Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics recycle free at the county transfer station within a seven item daily limit and through the state Oregon E-Cycles program.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free at the North Marion transfer station for up to seven computers, televisions, monitors or laptops per customer per day, and free through Oregon E-Cycles for seven or fewer computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, televisions and printers at a time, with keyboards and mice also free.
When & how
Drop the devices at the transfer station daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or use a participating Oregon E-Cycles site found through the state locator or 888-769-0149.
Get it ready
Keep the devices whole enough to be accepted as electronics rather than garbage, and note that householders with more than seven large items in one trip are pointed to a commercial electronics recycler instead.

Bulk household items

Accepted with preparation

Bulk household items leave on a booked hauler pickup or on a self haul load to the county transfer station, which bills household material as garbage.

City cost & eligibility
From $30 for minimum charge for a garbage load at the transfer station, with the per ton rate above the published weight threshold and the hauler setting its own bulk pickup price. A self hauled load pays the station garbage rate, while a curbside bulk pickup is quoted by Republic Services because no franchise rate table is published.
When & how
Call Republic Services at 503-981-1278 to book a pickup, or use the transfer station daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Get it ready
Sort the load before the trip, because clean yard waste has its own lower rate and only qualifies when nothing else is mixed in, and keep refused items out entirely: hazardous and liquid waste, oil containers, closed barrels and tanks, sewage sludge, animal remains over the published weight, sharps, and creosote treated wood.

The county household hazardous waste facility is at the Salem-Keizer Transfer Station, 3250 Deer Park Drive SE in Salem, and opens Thursdays only from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Household material is free for Marion County residents, but it has to arrive in original or resealable containers with good lids, packed in a box, with anything over five gallons or repeated containers of one substance approved ahead of time.

Free drop-off streams at the transfer station

Electronics, container glass, household and vehicle batteries, paint under the PaintCare program, scrap metal that is at least ninety percent metal, mixed paper and cardboard, used motor oil within the per visit limit, and plastic bottles and jugs are all free to drop off. Everything else is billed at the scale.

Curbside service from the franchised hauler

Woodburn households that need regularly scheduled trash and recycling collection at the curb.

Cost & conditions
Republic Services holds the Woodburn franchise for trash and recycling, and neither the City nor the hauler publishes a rate table, so the household confirms the cart size, frequency and monthly price when service is opened. The City lists the provider at 503-981-1278.
Arrange it
Call Republic Services at 503-981-1278 to start service, and contact the same number for missed collections, cart changes and scheduling.

The City itself runs no collection program, so all service terms, cart sizes and prices come from the franchise hauler.

Through your building

Bulk pickup from the franchised hauler

Households with a mattress, a refrigerator or another large item that will not fit the cart.

Cost & conditions
The hauler publishes a bulk waste service and uses an old mattress or refrigerator as its example, but no price table, so the household confirms the pickup price when it books. The transfer station publishes its own garbage and appliance rates for a self haul instead.
Arrange it
Call Republic Services at 503-981-1278, describe the items, and confirm the collection day and placement.

Bulk pricing is set by the hauler, and material that the transfer station classifies as hazardous, liquid or creosote treated wood cannot be picked up at all.

Oregon E-Cycles electronics recycling

Any household with computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, televisions or printers to recycle.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free for anyone bringing seven or fewer computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, televisions and printers at a time, with keyboards and mice also free.
Arrange it
Find a participating site with the state locator or by calling 888-769-0149, or use the transfer station, which recycles the same devices free within its own seven item daily limit.

Other types of electronics are not part of the program, and larger loads need a commercial recycler.

County household hazardous waste day

Households with paint, solvents, cleaners, pesticides, batteries or other hazardous products.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free for non-business Marion County residents, with containers larger than five gallons or multiple containers of one substance needing county approval before delivery. Small businesses can use the facility only after pre-registering and pay by the pound.
Arrange it
Take the material to the facility at the Salem-Keizer Transfer Station, 3250 Deer Park Drive SE in Salem, on a Thursday between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The facility opens one day a week and is in Salem rather than Woodburn, fifty five gallon drums are refused, and everything has to be in original or resealable containers with good lids, packed in a box to stop it tipping.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Woodburn households that haul their own loads use the North Marion Recycling and Transfer Station at 17827 Whitney Lane NE, open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for county holidays. Garbage and demolition material are billed per ton with a minimum charge, clean yard waste has its own lower rate when the load is nothing else, appliances cost one rate without refrigerant and a higher published rate with it, and tires are priced by rim size. Electronics, container glass, household and vehicle batteries, PaintCare paint, scrap metal, mixed paper and cardboard, used motor oil and plastic bottles and jugs drop off free. Everything is hand unloaded because tip loads ended in 2025, hazardous and liquid waste is refused, and household hazardous material goes instead to the county facility at the Salem-Keizer Transfer Station in Salem, which is free for county residents and opens Thursdays only. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Woodburn.

How much does TV removal cost in Woodburn?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Woodburn?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a Woodburn television go?

To the North Marion transfer station, where computers, televisions, monitors and laptops are free for the first seven items per customer per day, or to any Oregon E-Cycles collection site, which recycles seven or fewer computers, monitors, televisions and printers at a time for free.Official guidance

What happens if a household has more than seven electronics?

The transfer station accepts seven of those items per customer per day free, and the county suggests contacting a commercial electronics recycler such as Garten Services for larger loads. Oregon E-Cycles applies the same seven item limit at a time.Official guidance

What will the transfer station refuse?

Hazardous waste, explosives, pathological and biological waste, radioactive material, sewage sludge, human waste, syringes and sharps, liquid waste, containers of oil, closed barrels and tanks, railroad ties and creosote treated wood, and any container marked with a hazard warning.Official guidance

Is there a cheaper rate for clean yard waste?

Yes. Clean yard waste is billed at its own lower per ton rate with a lower minimum, but it only applies when the load is nothing else, since mixed loads are charged the garbage rate. Large timbers, stumps and dirt are not accepted in the yard waste stream.Official guidance

What does Woodburn charge for trash and large item disposal?

The City publishes no franchise rate, so curbside and bulk pricing comes from Republic Services at 503-981-1278. A self haul to the county transfer station is billed at the published garbage rate with a minimum charge, appliances cost more when they were built to hold refrigerant, tires are priced by rim size, and electronics, batteries, paint, scrap metal, paper, motor oil and container glass are free.Official guidance

Who handles trash and recycling in Woodburn?

Republic Services is the city's franchised trash and recycling provider, listed by the City at 2215 N Front Street with the phone number 503-981-1278. The City itself runs no collection program, so service, billing and pickups all go through the hauler.Official guidance
