Under City Ordinance #3821, Article 933.04, recycling is mandatory in Bethlehem — but trash is not a city service. Every Bethlehem address pays a private licensed hauler for garbage, and the only curbside-bulk event the city runs is Spring Yard Waste (June 1–12, 2026), which excludes appliances. The free white-goods path is the Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center at 635 Illick’s Mill Road (Tue–Sat 10 AM–4 PM), which takes washers, dryers, ovens, and stoves at no charge but explicitly refuses dishwashers, AC units, refrigerators, freezers, or any appliance that uses freon.
