Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

The main route for appliances, scrap metal, tires, electronics and other items the city excludes from curbside collection.

Cost & conditions
Florence County operates fifteen residential drop-off sites for county and city residents and does not publish a per-item rate, so call (843) 665-3022 to confirm what your load costs.
Arrange it
Fifteen sites run Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and closed Sunday. Bring items sorted, and use only the sites that accept your material.

Electronics are accepted at sites 7, 9, 12 and 14 only; farmer oil only at sites 7 and 9; oil and gasoline mixtures only at site 12; and tires are refused at sites 8, 10 and 15. Commercial tires belong at 7205 Don McCain Drive.

Florence routes almost everything that is not garbage, recycling or yard waste to Florence County. Fifteen county drop-off sites run Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., taking aluminum, large appliances, cardboard, mixed paper, plastics 1 and 2, scrap metal, steel cans, used motor oil and tires at most locations, with electronics limited to four sites and tires refused at three. The city also runs a SCDHEC-permitted mulching facility at 1440 S. McCurdy Road where residents can collect free mulch on weekdays, and city fire stations take residential used motor oil with a five-gallon limit per trip. Can I get same-day TV pickup in Florence?
