One machine or the pair

Two machines count as two items.

A matching washer and dryer are still separate appliances. Add each one that is leaving so your price includes the full pickup.

Keeping one? Add only the machine that is going.

Washing machine

Use Washing machine for a household front-load or top-load washer. Compact portable washing machines have a separate choice in All appliances. Empty the drum and arrange safe disconnection before pickup.

Clothes dryer

Use Dryer for a household gas or electric clothes dryer. Have gas, power and vent connections safely disconnected before moving it. Use a qualified professional when needed, especially for gas or hardwired connections.

Stacked or combined units

A separate washer and dryer count as two even when stacked. Arrange any separation before pickup. If yours is one combined machine or a connected laundry center, send a model photo before booking so we can confirm the correct scope.

Refrigerators, washers, dryers and white goods

Special rules apply

White goods are excluded from city curbside collection but are accepted at the Florence County drop-off sites, which take large appliances such as refrigerators and washers and dryers.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no curbside appliance charge because it does not collect white goods. The county does not publish a per-item rate either, so call Florence County Public Works on 843-665-3022 to confirm.
When & how
County sites run Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and closed Sunday.
Get it ready
Remove doors where you can, keep refrigerants intact, and check the site listing before hauling so you use a location that takes large appliances.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Never mix other waste into a yard waste pile

Yard waste must stay separate from household garbage, brown goods such as furniture and mattresses, white goods such as refrigerators and washers, tires, building materials, construction debris, recyclables and scrap metal. Mixing it in means the pile is not collected as yard waste.

Yard Waste Collection and Free Mulch

Contractors haul their own debris

Commercial building and remodeling contractors, landscapers, tree firms, roofers and clearing contractors may not deposit their debris for city collection, and the city is not responsible for construction, demolition or land-clearing waste originating from private property. Burning solid waste is prohibited.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Washer & dryer removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Florence.

How much does washer and dryer removal cost in Florence?

A household washing machine is $109 as a single item, and a household dryer is $109. For two machines, the highest first-item price applies once and the other uses its additional-item price. Select both to see the exact total. Loading, transportation and disposal are included in the item prices; applicable sales tax is shown before payment.

Can you remove just a washer or just a dryer?

Yes. Add only the machine that is going. A household front-load or top-load washer uses Washing machine, and a gas or electric clothes dryer uses Dryer. If both are leaving, add one of each. Compact portable washers have their own catalog choice.

Can I book same-day washer and dryer pickup in Florence?

Same-day pickup is available when you book by 2pm local time, where available. Checkout shows the dates and readiness time for your address. Arrange disconnection and outdoor access first. We text before arrival and send photos after pickup; an exact arrival appointment is not part of the booking.

Will you disconnect or unstack my washer and dryer?

Arrange utility disconnection, unstacking and the move outside before pickup. Dropcurb loads and hauls away machines from an accessible ground-level outdoor spot. Gas, hardwired and plumbing connections may need a qualified professional. Contact us with a model photo if you have a combined unit or a connected laundry center.

How do I book a stacked washer and dryer?

If they are two separate machines, add one Washing machine and one Dryer, and arrange for them to be separated and accessible outside before pickup. If they form one combined machine or connected laundry center, contact us with the model and a photo to confirm the scope before booking.

Can you take the old machines if the delivery company left them behind?

Yes. Dropcurb pickup can be booked independently of a new appliance purchase. Choose the machines that are going and arrange their preparation and outdoor placement. If your replacement delivery is still ahead, first check whether the retailer already included old-appliance haul-away.

Where do refrigerators and washers go in Florence?

To a Florence County drop-off site rather than the curb. The city list excludes white goods, which covers refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, dishwashers, trash compactors, washers, dryers, air conditioners and commercial large appliances, while the county site directory lists large appliances including refrigerators, washers and dryers.Official guidance

Will Florence pick up a couch, mattress or appliance at the curb?

No. Florence limits curbside collection to household garbage, single-stream recycling and yard waste. Brown goods such as furniture, mattresses and box springs are named in the exclusions, white goods such as refrigerators, washers, dryers and water heaters are excluded too, and the city's special on-call collection is offered for yard waste only.Official guidance

Where do Florence residents take furniture, appliances and tires?

To a Florence County drop-off site. Fifteen sites run Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the directory lists large appliances, scrap metal, tires and household electronics among accepted materials, with electronics limited to sites 7, 9, 12 and 14 and tires refused at sites 8, 10 and 15.Official guidance
