Count the sections, not the cushions.

A loveseat, a sleeper and a sectional can look similar in a photo. Match the shape and features so your online price covers what is actually going.

Three structural sectional modules slightly separated, with all cushions remaining on their bases.
This example has three structural sections. The cushions do not add to the count.

A straight sofa or loveseat

Choose Standard sofa for fixed seats with no pull-out bed or reclining mechanism. One whole sofa is one item.

A sectional

Count its structural sections, not the loose cushions. Choose the piece count, then check for a sleeper or reclining feature. One sectional booking covers the configuration you select.

A pull-out bed or reclining seats

Choose Sleeper sofa or Reclining sofa for those mechanisms. A single reclining chair has its own Recliner choice. All sofa types also includes futons and sofas with a chaise.

Republic extra pick-up for oversized loads

Households with a bulk item larger than the curbside size limit, or more brush or bulk than the weekly allowance.

Cost & conditions
Republic Services quotes an extra pick-up by phone at 817-317-2000 and publishes no rate table, so confirm the current price before the load is scheduled.
Arrange it
Call Republic Services customer service at 817-317-2000, describe the load, and follow the collection instructions the hauler gives. Payment for a special pick-up goes to Republic Services directly rather than on the water bill.

This route is for material Republic will accept, so concrete, paint, chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, tires and electronics stay excluded even on a quoted pick-up.

Donation pickup and local drop-offs

Households with reusable furniture, clothing, shoes, books, toys and other household items that are still in usable condition.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Bedford residents arranging a donation pickup or using a local donation drop-off. Donation partners publish their own accepted item lists.
Arrange it
Schedule a Donate 2 Impact pickup at www.r2sdfw.com and place packed items outside the front door by 8 a.m. on the scheduled date, or use a local drop-off such as the Goodwill Donation Station at 2101 Bedford Rd.

Donation routes take reusable goods rather than disposal loads, so a stained, broken or non reusable item still goes through the bulk collection. The donation partner publishes the complete list of accepted items.

Apartment and condominium route

Residents of apartment complexes, which Bedford treats as commercial Republic Services accounts rather than single household accounts.

Cost & conditions
An apartment complex is billed as a commercial account, so the household routes and the free landfill days do not apply. Ask the property how its dumpster arrangement works, and confirm any charge with the complex rather than the City.
Arrange it
Contact the property manager or leasing office about using the complex dumpsters for excess refuse, or use the Keep Bedford Beautiful Chunk Your Junk event with proof of Bedford residency.

Bedford states that apartment residents are not authorized by Republic Services to take part in the free landfill days, and the City suggests asking the apartment about its dumpsters or joining the annual bulk waste collection event instead.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Bedford's self-haul routes run through the Keep Bedford Beautiful event calendar and the free landfill days rather than a city transfer station. Free landfill days fall on the fourth Saturday of the month from February through November in 2026, with no free day in January or December, at the Arlington Landfill, 800 Mosier Valley Road in Euless, open to residents from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and no-charge access is limited to individual homeowners with a Texas driver license and water bill showing the same address and waste delivered in a car, a pickup or a trailer up to 8 feet long. Larger and commercial loads are charged, hazardous waste is not included, and each e-waste item costs $25. Household hazardous waste goes to the Fort Worth Environmental Collection Center free with proof of residency, and electronics go to the Chunk Your Junk event, where DFW Reclaimers takes them. Tires have no city drop-off, so the City points residents to Time to Recycle for a location. 2026 free landfill day schedule and access rulesHousehold hazardous waste route and accepted materialChunk Your Junk event details and accepted materialBulk and brush pick-up rules

Can you pick up my couch today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the couch outside and accessible according to your confirmation. We send pickup updates and photos when it is done; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.
