Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Special rules apply

Electronic waste is refused on the city's brush and bulky route by name, including televisions, monitors and computer equipment. The documented destination is the household hazardous waste drop-off site at the City of Laredo Landfill, which the city describes as taking batteries, computers, paints and other hazardous materials for residents, so a television in particular has to be confirmed.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes the household hazardous waste drop-off for computers and other household hazardous material but no fee and no television detail, while electronic waste is prohibited from the bulky service. Call 3-1-1 to confirm that a television or monitor is accepted, when the site is open and whether anything is charged.
When & how
Ask 3-1-1 first, then take the devices to the household hazardous waste drop-off at the City of Laredo Landfill rather than adding them to a bulky pile, where they are prohibited.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers and phones, keep cables and remote controls with the device they belong to, keep batteries with the household hazardous waste load rather than the carts, and keep everything electronic out of the blue recycling cart.
Laredo Solid Waste brush and bulky item page with the free brush service and paid rates, the construction and demolition debris rates, the two free bulky collections a year under the city ordinance, the additional pickup prices, the acceptable bulky item list, the ten foot set out rules and the prohibited items including electronic waste, batteries and titled vehiclesLaredo Solid Waste questions and answers covering the 6:30 a.m. cart set out, the second cart fee, the landfill option for appliances and furniture at two dollars a load and free on Saturdays, the bulky pickup terms with up to four items twice a year, the additional item prices, the tire rules with four free passenger tires a day for residents, the landfill hours and full fee table, the free used motor oil and mulch sites and the household hazardous waste drop-off for batteries, computers and paints

Right place.

The cart is for household garbage only

Garbage, recycling and lawn clippings are collected once a week, and the Willie Bote cart goes out by 6:30 a.m. about four feet away from large objects with no vehicle blocking it. The cart refuses hot ashes, flammable liquids or solids, solvents, motor oil, hazardous materials, concrete blocks, paint, construction and demolition debris, dirt, rocks and steel, and a second cart can be rented for a monthly fee through the 3-1-1 call centre. Everything bagged keeps maggots out and the cart cleaner.

The landfill is the second route, and it prices by the load

The City of Laredo Landfill on State Highway 359 opens Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, with utility trailers entering thirty minutes before closing and 18 wheelers inside by 2:30 p.m. A city resident load under two thousand pounds costs two dollars on a weekday and is free on Saturdays up to a ton, weight beyond the first ton is charged by the ton, tires are free in limited numbers for residents, used motor oil and mulch are free, and the household hazardous waste drop-off takes batteries, computers and paints from residential households.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Laredo gives a household both routes: an appointment collection and a landfill it can drive to. The free route is the bulky programme, two collections a year for households paying the residential garbage fee with up to four items in each pickup, booked as a work order on 956-796-1098 or 3-1-1, and the acceptable list names furniture, mattresses, box springs, carpets, swing sets, plastic pools, large toys, bicycles and large household appliances. Anything past the allowance is charged on the published per item scale, and construction and demolition debris such as wood, sheet rock, carpet and siding is a separate priced service rather than part of the bulky pickups. The self haul route is the City of Laredo Landfill at 6912 State Highway 359, open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., where a resident load under two thousand pounds costs two dollars on a weekday and is free on Saturdays up to a ton, weight beyond the first ton is charged by the ton, tires are free in limited numbers with identification and a matching utility bill, used motor oil and mulch are free, and the environmental department's household hazardous waste drop-off takes batteries, computers, paints and other hazardous materials from residential households. Electronic waste cannot go in the bulky pile, so televisions and monitors should be confirmed with 3-1-1 before they are loaded. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Laredo.

How much does TV removal cost in Laredo?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Laredo?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do TVs and computers go in Laredo?

Not in the bulky pile, which prohibits electronic waste including televisions, monitors and computer equipment. The city's household hazardous waste drop-off at the landfill is documented for batteries, computers, paints and other hazardous materials, and 3-1-1 should be asked to confirm televisions and the current hours.Official guidance

Which items have to go somewhere other than the curb in Laredo?

Electronic waste including televisions, monitors and computer equipment, batteries, car parts, engine powered items and anything with a title are prohibited from the bulky service; paint, motor oil, hazardous materials, construction debris, concrete, dirt, rocks and steel are refused in the garbage cart; and tires, used motor oil, mulch and household hazardous waste all have their own places at the City of Laredo Landfill.Official guidance
