When & how
Do not set construction debris out with the weekly bulk pile. Ask the town line where the load should go, and note that the landfill named in the town FAQ is the one in Melissa on Sam Rayburn Highway, not the Custer Road transfer station in Plano, which residents may not use.
Get it ready
Separate fencing or panels that qualify as bulky items with the nails removed from any commercial construction or remodelling material, which is refused, and keep bricks, concrete and commercial tree service debris out of the pile entirely.
Bulk and yard waste ride the weekly collection day
Up to four cubic yards of bulky waste goes out weekly on the same day as the carts, with no appointment, and yard waste goes out in the same week in kraft bags of forty pounds or less or in tied bundles. Limbs are cut to four feet or less, tied with biodegradable cotton, jute rope, twine or string, with no limb over six inches in diameter and no bundle over fifty pounds. Debris from a commercial landscaping or tree service cannot be left at the kerb or taken to the Saturday drop-off.

The town FAQ states that there is a fee to use the landfill in Melissa and publishes no rate, so call 469-626-4452 for current costs and hours before loading the vehicle.

Call 469-626-4452 for the hours and the gate charge, then take the load to 3820 Sam Rayburn Highway (SH 121) in Melissa.
The FAQ states plainly that residents may not use the Custer Road transfer station in Plano, so the Melissa landfill is the only self-haul route the town names.
