Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets

City cost & eligibility
The city tells residents to call a private hauler for construction debris and publishes no city rate, so confirm the container and the disposal charge with a private company or the receiving facility before the work starts.

Get it ready
Keep lumber and construction debris out of the brush pile because the yard waste rules forbid mixing them, keep stumps, rocks, dirt, sand and pressurized cylinders out of both the curbside carts and the Reworld load, and note that carpet or lumber longer than 4 feet is listed as a reason a collection is refused.
The city generally provides one 64 gallon trash can free of charge to households receiving city collection except in Old Town, and the cans remain city property that stays with the address. Collection is at the curb in most single family neighborhoods and in alleys in most Old Town neighborhoods, and a missed pickup is explained by an oops tag whose common reasons are an over heavy container, carpet or lumber longer than 4 feet, and unacceptable items such as construction debris, dirt, brick and stones.
Yard waste goes in reusable hard sided containers or paper yard waste bags next to the trash cart, never in the city trash can, with each bag or container under 45 pounds, and dirt, soil, mulch, sod, stumps, rocks and stones need private disposal while material in plastic bags is treated as trash. Bulky yard waste is booked with an online appointment for logs and branches under 18 inches in diameter and 10 feet long with no stumps, stacked at the curb with 25 feet of overhead clearance and 10 feet from parked cars and never against poles, fences or buildings.
Residents with proof of residency at the scale house may drop small amounts of metal, non-metal items, brush and yard waste once a week up to 500 pounds free of charge at Reworld Alexandria at 5301 Eisenhower Avenue, using the bypass lane on the far right, unloading the vehicle themselves, and keeping household trash, stumps, rocks, dirt, sand, pressurized cylinders and refrigerant appliances out of the load. Contractors are turned away from the residential drop off.

Use the city curbside collection and appliance appointments
