Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Electronics, televisions and monitors

Special rules apply

Single-family residents may put electronics next to the blue recycling cart at no extra charge, booked with the hauler. King County transfer stations refuse televisions, computers and monitors outright, so those items use the curbside service or a free E-Cycle Washington drop off.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included for single-family Kirkland residents when the pickup is scheduled with Waste Management at least one business day before collection day. Free E-Cycle Washington drop offs take televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, e-readers, tablets and portable DVD players.
When & how
Schedule the curbside pickup with Waste Management on 425-587-0040 or pnwrsservices@wm.com, then place the items two feet from the blue recycling cart on collection day. The E-Cycle drop off sites keep their own posted hours.
Get it ready
Keep every item to two feet by two feet by two feet or less and 60 pounds or less, and bag small devices such as phones in a clear plastic bag. The curbside service takes a television up to a 21 inch screen, so a larger screen goes to an E-Cycle Washington drop off such as Pacific Power Batteries of Kirkland or Goodwill Juanita.

Schedule electronics a business day ahead

The curbside electronics service needs a booking with Waste Management at least one business day before your collection day. On the day, set the items two feet from the blue recycling cart, keep each one within two feet by two feet by two feet and 60 pounds, and put small devices such as phones in a clear plastic bag. A television larger than a 21 inch screen has to go to an E-Cycle Washington drop off instead.

Use a free E-Cycle Washington drop off

Anyone in Kirkland with a television or monitor, including a screen larger than the curbside limit, or with a computer, laptop or tablet.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free for residents and businesses with fewer than 50 employees at participating E-Cycle Washington sites, including Pacific Power Batteries of Kirkland at 13205 NE 124th St Ste A and Goodwill Juanita at 9826 NE 132nd St.
Arrange it
Bring the device to a participating drop off during its posted hours, or call ahead to confirm the current window. Goodwill locations limit a donor to ten televisions, monitors, computers and laptops a day.

The free programme covers televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, e-readers, tablets and portable DVD players rather than every device. Printers, keyboards and other small electronics are better carried to Staples, Best Buy or PC Recycle, where some items carry a charge.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in Kirkland means a King County transfer station. The Houghton station on NE 60th Street sits inside the city in the Bridle Trails area, and the Factoria station in Bellevue and the Shoreline station are the nearer options for recycling rather than disposal. Customers must live or do business in King County outside Seattle and Milton, loads are paid at the scale house by card, cash or Apple Pay, and the charge is by weight with a minimum for the first 320 pounds. The choice of station matters: a mattress is recycled at Factoria and Shoreline but handled as garbage at Houghton, and refrigerant appliances are recycled at Factoria and Shoreline for a per unit fee. Televisions, computers, monitors, major appliances, batteries, pesticides, propane tanks, sharps and motor oil are refused, so the free E-Cycle Washington drop off at Pacific Power Batteries of Kirkland or Goodwill Juanita is the route for a screen. Renovation material has to arrive without asbestos or hazardous waste and without a hydraulic dump bed unless construction material is a small share of the load. 13205 NE 124th St Ste A, Kirkland, WA 98034

Televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, e-readers, tablets and portable DVD players, free through the state E-Cycle Washington programme.

The free programme covers the listed devices rather than every electronic item, so call the site on 425-820-3727 before a large drop off. Goodwill Juanita at 9826 NE 132nd St also participates but limits a donor to ten televisions, monitors, computers and laptops a day.

The city does not publish this site's hours, so call 425-820-3727 to confirm the current drop off window before loading the car.

No charge. Free through E-Cycle Washington for residents and businesses with fewer than 50 employees. Some non-covered items at other participating sites, such as PC Recycle in Woodinville, carry a charge.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Kirkland.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Kirkland?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Kirkland?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Can a large television go out with Kirkland recycling?

The curbside electronics service takes a television up to a 21 inch screen. A larger screen goes to a free E-Cycle Washington drop off such as Pacific Power Batteries of Kirkland or Goodwill Juanita, which caps donations at ten televisions, monitors, computers and laptops per donor per day. King County transfer stations do not accept televisions at all.Official guidance
