Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Special rules apply

The Chelan transfer station accepts electronics and the state runs the free E-Cycle Washington program, while the Wenatchee station's own page does not list electronics.

City cost & eligibility
The Chelan station lists electronics recycling and the county points to the state E-Cycle Washington program for accepted devices, but the Wenatchee station page does not name electronics and no fee is published for a television, so confirm the site and any charge before the set is moved.
When & how
Check the state E-Cycle Washington accepted list, or take the set to the Chelan Transfer Station during its Tuesday to Saturday hours, and confirm with the Wenatchee Transfer Station on 509-662-8885 whether it takes electronics at all.
Get it ready
Keep the screen whole and dry and wipe anything that stores data, keep the set out of the recycling cart, and confirm before traveling because the Chelan station's summer and winter closing times differ.

The city contracts the hauler, the hauler does the billing

Wenatchee's utility billing department handles water, sewer and storm drain services, and the city contracts Waste Management Inc. for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection. Waste Management is responsible for collection and billing of both residential and commercial solid waste customers, so a household starting, stopping or changing service calls the hauler on (877) 466-4668 or goes to wmnorthwest.com/wenatchee rather than calling City Hall. The city utility customer service desk answers on (509) 888-3600 and sits at 301 Yakima Street, Wenatchee, WA 98801, open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Two more county stations, and inert loads go elsewhere

Chelan County runs a second station at Dryden and a third at Chelan. Dryden on Highway 2 is open Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with no loads after 3:45 p.m. and charges by the ton with a minimum under 480 pounds, a separate appliance schedule that covers up to two units without refrigerant and charges extra for refrigeration and air conditioning units, lower rates for brush, motor oil at 2 per gallon, a scrap metal minimum and tire prices by the piece, while refusing dirt, rock, concrete, asbestos, propane tanks, liquids and hazardous waste. The Chelan station on Highway 97A charges by the cubic yard with a minimum under one cubic yard, takes appliances and scrap metal by the cubic yard, and adds electronics recycling, free cardboard recycling and tires. Inert material such as sand, concrete, glass, asphalt, rock, brick and dirt does not go to the county stations at all: the county directs it to the Filion Inert Landfill in Cashmere or Waste Management's regional landfill in Douglas County, and inert waste does not include roofing or demolition material from a structure, which also means asbestos testing before a demolition or remodeling job.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Wenatchee means the Chelan County transfer stations. The one inside the city, at 1421 South Wenatchee Avenue, is operated by Waste Management for the county, opens to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm, takes cash or credit card only, and charges a minimum per load up to 1,000 pounds before the tonnage rate, with lower rates for green waste under and over 500 pounds, a set price for a single item of furniture, tires priced with or without rims and capped at six per load, free sharps disposal in a labeled container, paint accepted only when completely dried out, and no hazardous waste. Fees and taxes are stacked on top, including an energy charge, a Chelan and Douglas Health District charge of 1 per ton, Washington State solid waste tax of 3.6 percent and a Wenatchee utility tax of 19.05 percent. The county's Dryden station on Highway 2 runs Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with no loads after 3:45 p.m. and publishes appliance rates covering up to two units without refrigerant with a separate charge for refrigeration and air conditioning units, plus brush, motor oil, scrap metal and tire rates, while refusing dirt, rock, concrete, propane tanks and hazardous waste. The Chelan station on Highway 97A charges by the cubic yard with seasonal hours, takes appliances and scrap metal, adds electronics recycling and free cardboard recycling, and refuses wet paint, rock, concrete and car batteries. Inert material such as concrete, rock, brick, dirt and sod goes to the Filion Inert Landfill in Cashmere on 782-1010 or to Waste Management's regional landfill in Douglas County on 884-2802 instead, and demolition or remodeling work needs asbestos testing first through Chelan County Public Works on 667-6415. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Wenatchee.

How much does TV removal cost in Wenatchee?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Wenatchee?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a television go in Wenatchee?

The Chelan Transfer Station lists electronics recycling among its services and the county links the state E-Cycle Washington program for the accepted device list. The Wenatchee Transfer Station's own page does not mention electronics and takes no hazardous waste, so confirm before taking a set there on 509-662-8885. No television fee is published on the retained pages.Official guidance

Who collects Wenatchee garbage and recycling?

Waste Management Inc. does, under the city contract, and it is responsible for collection and billing of both residential and commercial solid waste customers, including recycling and yard waste. New service or a stop and start goes through the hauler on (877) 466-4668 or wmnorthwest.com/wenatchee, not through the city. The city utility desk bills water, sewer and storm drain only, answers on (509) 888-3600 and is open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday at 301 Yakima Street.Official guidance

Where do Wenatchee appliances go?

The county's published appliance rates sit at its own stations. Dryden on Highway 2 charges a minimum fee for appliances without refrigerant that covers up to two units, a small charge for each additional unit without refrigerant, and a higher per unit charge for refrigeration and air conditioning units. The Chelan station charges by the cubic yard for appliances and scrap metal with the same higher charge for refrigerant units. The Wenatchee Transfer Station publishes no appliance rate, so call 509-662-8885 before taking one there.Official guidance
