The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, monitors and other electronic waste are universal waste that cannot go to the landfill or recycling center, so they are separated from the carts and collected through CR&R or the county centers.
City cost & eligibility
The city sheet requires a special pickup arranged by phone and the rate sheet lists a separate residential additional pick up line without tying it to universal waste, while the county centers publish no drop-off fee. Get it ready
Keep the screen whole, wipe or reset anything that stores data, and never put a television, monitor or battery in a cart. At a county center the waste is accepted from Orange County residents only, with a maximum of 15 gallons or 125 lbs per vehicle per trip and containers no larger than 5 gallons, and tires, asbestos, ammunition, explosives, high-pressure cylinders and commercial waste are refused.
Batteries, thermostats, fluorescent tubes, cathode ray tubes such as televisions and monitors, high intensity discharge and sodium vapour lamps, aerosol cans that are not completely empty, mercury items, electronic waste, medications and sharps cannot go to the landfill or the recycling center and have to be separated from the trash and recycling containers. Special pickup arrangements are made by calling CR&R at (877) 728-0446 with the exact items and quantities.
