A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

A house, a condo or an apartment. Choose an accessible outdoor spot that works for your property. You arrange the move outside; we take it from there.

  1. Check the route and the model.

Measure doors and turns, and check the manufacturer’s moving instructions. Folding and moving methods vary by model. Have any required disassembly handled before pickup; we start outside.

  2. Book a day you can be ready.

Choose from the available pickup dates before moving the machine out. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. Book by 2pm at the pickup address for same-day pickup.

  3. Make the equipment easy to identify.

Treadmills and exercise equipment

Special rules apply

Exercise equipment is not named in the county's bulky waste categories or its free drop-off list, so the machine has to be confirmed rather than assumed. A machine that fits the five cubic yard pile can be booked with the annual appointment, and a metal framed machine may qualify as clean metal at the free drop-off, where the load has to hold only free items.

City cost & eligibility
No county rate or list covers an exercise machine, so confirm the machine with customer service at 916-875-5555 before booking. A machine that fits within five cubic yards can go out with the annual bulky waste appointment, and a metal framed machine may be accepted as clean metal at the free drop-off.
When & how
Call 916-875-5555 before the appointment day and describe the machine and the material of its frame, because the bulky list and the free drop-off list are both fixed lists.
Get it ready
Break the machine down where you can, remove any console or battery so it can be handled separately, keep the load to free items only if you plan to drop it off, and keep everything within the five cubic yard limit if it goes out for pickup.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self-hauling in Antelope means driving to the county facilities. The North Area Recovery Station at 4450 Roseville Road in North Highlands takes household loads and the free drop-off list, and Kiefer Landfill at 12701 Kiefer Boulevard in Sloughhouse does the same while also taking clean concrete, asphalt, tile, brick, rocks and stucco without rebar at no charge and being the only county site that accepts treated wood. A load made up only of no-fee items is free at either gate, which covers a mattress and a box spring, one or two large appliances a day, residents-only e-waste such as a television or a computer, clean metal, small corded items, small power tools and up to four passenger tires, while a load with furniture or household trash in it is weighed and charged. Fluids, removable batteries and anything with a built-in battery have to be handled separately, green waste and clean wood have their own area, and every load has to be covered or secured. Household chemicals go to the hazardous waste facility at the Roseville Road address, which keeps Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday hours and takes up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds a month free. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Exercise equipment removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Antelope.

How much does exercise equipment removal cost in Antelope?

A household treadmill is $159 as the first item and $85 additional. An elliptical is $159 first and $85 additional; an exercise bike is $119 first and $40 additional. Choose all your items to see the combined price. Loading, transportation and disposal are included, with any applicable sales tax shown before payment.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Will the county take a treadmill in Antelope?

Exercise equipment is not named on the bulky waste list or the free drop-off list, so confirm the machine with customer service at 916-875-5555 first. A machine that fits within five cubic yards can be booked with the annual bulky pickup, and a metal framed machine may go to the free drop-off as clean metal.Official guidance

Who runs the collection in Antelope?

Sacramento County's Department of Waste Management and Recycling runs the residential carts, the bulky waste appointments and the two drop-off facilities for residents in the unincorporated areas of the county. Multifamily apartment complexes, condos, mobile home parks and multiplexes are served by commercial franchised haulers instead, so a household in one of those buildings should ask the property manager. Customer service is 916-875-5555, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Official guidance
