Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

A machine therefore has to be confirmed with the hauler rather than assumed, and a large treadmill is likely to fall outside the bulky limits.

No city list or published rate covers an exercise machine, so call Athens Services at (888) 336-6100 to confirm whether the machine qualifies as a bulky item or needs a container, and mention its weight and dimensions because the bulky definition excludes anything over 60 pounds or over four feet wide.
When & how
Call Athens before the collection day with the machine's weight and dimensions, and book only once the hauler confirms the route for it.
Get it ready
Break the machine down where you can, keep the pieces together so the crew can handle them, and keep a machine that exceeds the bulky limits off the curb until the hauler confirms what to do with it.
Barrels go out the night before the service day or by 6 a.m. on the day itself. Athens observes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, and a holiday creates a one-day delay in collection, while a holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday does not delay service. Homes of four units or fewer use three carts, black for trash, blue for recycling and green for organics, and food waste in the green cart has to be in clear or transparent bags.
A bulky pickup has to be booked before anything goes out
Bulky items are collected free by Athens Services, but every request has to be scheduled at least 24 hours before the collection day, and the city recommends no more than five items in one request even though the number of requests is not capped. At a multi-family property the items go in the designated trash area without blocking the bins, and every piece has to stay within the city's limits of 60 pounds, four feet wide and eight feet long.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
