The project is done. Get your space back.

The new bathroom is ready, but the old vanity is still outside. A replaced door is taking up space you need. Put those leftover items on a pickup plan, with the price settled and updates through the final haul-away.

Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and renovation debris

Not on the regular city route

The city's carts are for household trash, recycling and organics only, and everything has to fit inside the right cart with the lid closed, so a renovation load cannot go to the curb. Project material moves through a container rented from the franchise hauler instead.

City cost & eligibility
No per load disposal rate is published for a household renovation load. The rate exhibit lists construction and demolition roll-off boxes charged plus disposal with a demo box option, so confirm the container size, the disposal terms and the price with Burrtec at (909) 889-1969.
When & how
No curbside collection day for project material. Order the container from Burrtec and have it placed and collected around the work.
Get it ready
Keep construction material out of all three carts, because everything must fit inside the appropriate cart with the lid closed and extra material beside the carts is not collected. Keep treated wood and asbestos away from the household hazardous waste route as well, since the county facilities refuse them.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Carts out by 6 a.m. and back in within 12 hours

Place the carts at the curb by 6 a.m. on the scheduled collection day and remove them within 12 hours after collection. Barrels sit at least two feet apart, facing the street with the wheels next to the curb or property line, to one side of the driveway and three feet from parked vehicles or other obstructions, and they are stored on the property between collection days.

Keep hazardous loads inside the transport limit

Household hazardous waste goes to a county collection facility rather than any cart. Before transporting, keep the load at or under 15 gallons or 125 pounds in containers no larger than five gallons, and make sure every container is sound, sealed and not leaking. The county information line is (800) 645-9228.

City of Highland and Burrtec Waste Industries

County household hazardous waste facility

A household with paint, oil, gasoline, cleaners, pesticides, batteries, fluorescent lights, electronic waste or sharps that the carts refuse.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free of charge to San Bernardino County residents at any county household hazardous waste collection facility, with no appointment mentioned by the city.
Arrange it
Take the load to the San Bernardino site at 2824 E W Street on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or to the Redlands City Yard at 500 Kansas Street on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and follow the county transport limits.

Business waste, explosives, medical waste other than sharps, radioactive or reactive waste, refrigerant cylinders, treated wood waste and asbestos are refused, and the transport load cannot exceed 15 gallons or 125 pounds in containers of five gallons or less.

City of Highland and Burrtec Waste Industries

Rent a container from the franchise hauler

A household or contractor with construction, demolition or clean-out material that cannot go in a cart or a bulky load.

Cost & conditions
The rate exhibit lists construction and demolition boxes charged plus disposal and a demo box for trash, but no household price is published for a load, so confirm the container size, the tonnage allowance and the disposal terms with Burrtec at (909) 889-1969.
Arrange it
Order the container from Burrtec, have it placed where the work is happening, and arrange collection when the project is finished.

Containers are for project material and still cannot take hazardous waste, which has to go to the county household hazardous waste facilities instead.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Highland residents self haul two ways. Electronics, paint, oil, cleaners, pesticides, batteries and sharps go to a San Bernardino County household hazardous waste facility free of charge, either the San Bernardino site at 2824 E W Street on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or the Redlands City Yard at 500 Kansas Street on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with loads kept at or under 15 gallons or 125 pounds in containers no larger than five gallons. Project material is different: the carts take household trash, recycling and organics only, so a renovation load needs a container rented from Burrtec, which offers dumpsters from three yards to 40 yards and lists construction and demolition boxes charged with disposal. Bulky household items do not need a trip at all, because four free curbside collections a year cover furniture, mattresses, appliances and electronic devices when they are scheduled with Burrtec at (909) 889-1969. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Highland.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Highland?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Highland?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Can construction debris go in the trash cart?

No. Highland's carts are for household trash, recycling and organics, and the city requires everything to fit inside the appropriate cart with the lid fully closed, with extra bags and loose items beside the carts left behind. Renovation debris goes into a container from the franchise hauler instead of any cart.Official guidance

How do I get a dumpster for a project?

Burrtec rents dumpsters from three yards to 40 yards, and the current rate exhibit lists a demo box plus construction and demolition boxes charged with disposal. Call Burrtec at (909) 889-1969 to choose the size for your project and confirm the disposal terms, since the city publishes no household price for a load.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Highland?

Burrtec Waste Industries collects under the city's franchise, and residential charges appear on the San Bernardino County property tax bill rather than on a hauler invoice. Burrtec customer service is (909) 889-1969, and the city Public Services Division answers programme questions at (909) 864-6861, extension 271.Official guidance
