Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the residential bulky item list, although an exercise bike appears on the hauler's commercial price list, so the hauler has to confirm the machine first.

No residential price or acceptance line covers an exercise machine. The only published mention is an exercise bike on the commercial price list, so confirm the item and any charge with Recology at 1-800-243-0291 before it goes out.

Get it ready
Describe the machine, its weight and whether it has a powered console, and keep it within the 60 pound limit and the six foot length limit that apply to bulky items.
A residential account gets four free bulky item collections a year, each covering one large item or up to seven bags, and the service account must be in your name. Each item must weigh 60 pounds or less, since anything heavier counts as two collections, each piece of furniture, large carpet or appliance counts as one collection, and the driver must be able to load it safely.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Novato's self-haul route is the Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 7576 Redwood Blvd, which serves Novato residents without an appointment on four days a month and takes electronic waste, televisions, paint, batteries, motor oil, sharps and small propane tanks. Residents outside Novato use the county facility in San Rafael, which excludes this city. Household batteries can also go in a sealed clear bag on top of the blue recycling cart on collection day, and a free residential electronic waste pickup runs on Mondays and Thursdays except holidays. Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
