City cost & eligibility
No charge. Green waste collection is part of the mandatory residential collection account for homes inside the City of Yucaipa; extra barrels are ordered from Yucaipa Disposal for an additional monthly charge on the account.
When & how
Green waste is collected once a week on the household's service day, the same day as trash and recycling. Christmas trees are picked up at the curb on the scheduled collection day starting December 26 and for roughly two weeks after that.
Get it ready
Bag food waste and put it in the green barrel, but never bag the green waste itself. Tie extra green waste in bundles no larger than four feet long and two feet in diameter and under 65 pounds, keep cactus, dirt, rock, concrete, plastic, pet waste and treated wood out, and set the barrel in the street or at the curb by 6:00 a.m. with the handles facing the home.

Place barrels in the street, at the curb or at the corner of the driveway with the handles facing the home, one foot apart and at least three feet from a mailbox, fence, vehicle or other obstruction. Set barrels out the night before or no later than 6:00 a.m. on the service day, because anything left behind waits for the next week.

Hazardous waste, tires and large amounts of dirt, rock, concrete or asphalt cannot go in the container. The container sits on the property rather than in the street, and it is not part of the four free bulky collection weeks.

Use an accessible outdoor spot you are allowed to use, and follow the instructions in your confirmation. Keep sidewalks, entrances and vehicle access clear. You arrange any indoor carrying. For a loading dock or a short building access window, confirm the setup with our team before booking.
