Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Special rules apply

The county does not run a household electronics drop off and points residents at a state list of certified electronics recyclers, so the route is a recycler rather than a municipal counter.

City cost & eligibility
No town or county facility in the retrieved pages publishes an electronics rate, because Weld County routes electronic waste to certified electronics recyclers on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment list and offers its program line at 970-400-2217 for help finding one, so the recycler sets the charge.
When & how
Find a certified electronics recycler through the state list or by calling the county program line at 970-400-2217, and ask about the drop off days before loading a television or monitor.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the trash cart, because the cart rules prohibit hazardous and prohibited waste and televisions and monitors are not accepted curbside. Wipe personal data before a computer or drive leaves your hands, and ask whether the recycler charges by the piece or by weight.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Johnstown leaves most of the hauling to Waste Connections but gives residents two ways to move a large item. Waste Connections collects a scheduled bulk item such as furniture or carpet for a published charge per item with at least 48 hours notice, and Weld County issues a free large item disposal voucher for one truck or trailer load up to one ton at the North Weld Landfill in Ault, the Buffalo Ridge Landfill in Keenesburg or the Front Range Landfill in Erie, valid from March 2 to October 31, 2026. A mattress, couch or table is named in the voucher program, and anything heavier than the one ton limit is billed at the landfill gate. Household hazardous products such as paint, cleaners, pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze and batteries go free to the county facility at 1311 North 17th Avenue in Greeley on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at 5500 Highway 52 in Dacono on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no container over five gallons, nothing in plastic bags, and a 200 pound daily limit per household. Appliances go to a scrap or appliance service, and a unit with Freon may need its coolant professionally removed by a certified technician first. Electronics go to a certified electronics recycler on the state list, and tires are prohibited in the cart, so they go back to a tire retailer. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Johnstown.

How much does TV removal cost in Johnstown?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Johnstown?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can I recycle a television in Johnstown?

At a certified electronics recycler rather than a town or county counter. Weld County points residents at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment list of electronics recyclers and takes questions on its program line at 970-400-2217, and electronics should not go in the trash cart.Official guidance

Who handles trash and recycling in Johnstown?

Waste Connections collects trash and recycling under a town contract, and the service is billed on the Johnstown utility statement along with water and sewer. Service changes and billing questions go to utilitybilling@johnstownco.gov or Town Hall at 970-587-4664, and Waste Connections customer service is at 303-288-2100.Official guidance

What does a bulk item pickup cost and how is it scheduled?

The town publishes a bulk item pickup charge of 15.00 per item, scheduled by calling Waste Connections at 303-288-2100 with at least 48 hours notice, and it notes there may be additional charges. The alternative is the county's free large item voucher, which covers one truck or trailer load up to one ton during the voucher window.Official guidance

Where does household hazardous waste go?

To one of the two Weld County facilities free of charge: 1311 North 17th Avenue in Greeley on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or 5500 Highway 52 in Dacono on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Containers have to be intact and no larger than five gallons, nothing can come in plastic bags, and the limit is 200 pounds per household per day.Official guidance

What cannot go in the Johnstown trash cart?

Motor oil, tires, batteries, herbicides, pesticides, acids, dead animals, dirt, sod, brick, concrete, rock, hot ashes, coals, and flammable material such as solvents, oil, gas or liquid paint. Trash also has to stay below the lid and be bagged and tied, with the cart curbside by 7 a.m. and two feet of clear space around it.Official guidance
