The annual Large Item Pickup Program takes furniture, carpet, appliances, electronics, doors and bundled branches from the curb at no extra charge, one appointment per household each year, and it books out fast. Everything the pickup program refuses, including demolition material, goes to the TEaM Transfer Station on Spring Hill Road, where Trumbull, Monroe and Easton residents share one facility and demolition loads carry a published fee.

The 2026 program opened Tuesday, April 6 and ran through the end of September, with pickups on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays by appointment on a first-come-first-served basis. The Town posted on September 1 that appointments were fully booked.

Place items at the curb in an orderly fashion by 6:30 a.m. on the appointment date, easily accessible to Town equipment and away from low electrical wires and low hanging branches. Remove refrigerator and freezer doors, cut doors in half horizontally, and keep electronics in their own pile.

Keep demolition material out of a Large Item Pickup pile, since the Town refuses it there, and split loads so each is close to the published weight step to avoid paying for unused capacity.
For the Large Item Pickup Program, have all disposal items placed at the curb in an orderly fashion by 6:30 a.m. on the appointment date and easily accessible to Town equipment and personnel. Keep piles away from low electrical wires and low hanging branches, and note that if a pile is disorganized or inaccessible the Town may bypass it and the household forfeits that year's pickup.
The Town does not take anything packed in bags or boxes for the Large Item Pickup Program, even small items. Bags and boxes are on the refused list, so set material out loose and in an orderly pile.

Pickups run Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays on a first-come-first-served basis, and each household may reschedule once if the request is made at least one day before the original date.
One pickup per household each year.
