FAQ

How does same-day pickup work?

Book before 12:00 PM, set items out by 10:00 AM, and a local hauler picks them up by 8:00 PM. We text you updates and a photo confirmation when it's done.

Dropcurb offers same-day junk removal for orders placed before 12:00 PM local time. Here's exactly how the timing works.

Same-day pickup (order before 12:00 PM):

  • Book online and confirm your order before noon
  • Set items at the curb by 10:00 AM
  • A verified, insured local hauler picks them up by 8:00 PM
  • You get a text when the hauler is on the way
  • You get a photo confirmation when it's done

Next-day pickup (order after 12:00 PM):

  • Book online anytime
  • Set items at the curb tonight or by 10:00 AM tomorrow
  • Hauler picks them up by 8:00 PM the next day
  • Same text updates and photo confirmation

Regional timing considerations:

  • Florida: Hurricane season (June-November) may delay pickups due to severe weather. Miami-Dade and Broward County haulers prioritize safety during tropical storm warnings. Spring break and winter tourist seasons can increase demand in coastal areas.
  • Texas: Summer heat over 100°F may shift pickup times earlier in cities like Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Winter ice storms in North Texas can delay service. Peak moving season (May-September) increases demand.
  • Washington/Oregon: Rain season (October-March) requires weather-resistant placement. Seattle and Portland area haulers work around ferry schedules on islands. Snow days may delay mountain community pickups.
  • Colorado: Snow and altitude affect winter pickups in Denver metro and mountain towns. Summer tourism season creates higher demand in resort areas like Vail and Aspen. Early morning pickup recommended due to afternoon thunderstorms.
  • Virginia: Northern Virginia rush hour traffic affects pickup timing. Snow days in the DC metro area can delay service. Military PCS seasons (summer/winter) create peak demand periods.

Municipal schedule conflicts:

  • Many cities have bulk pickup on specific weeks that can clog local hauler schedules
  • HOA communities often restrict curbside placement timing
  • Some neighborhoods have trash pickup before 10 AM, requiring careful coordination

You don't need to be home for any of this. There's no appointment window — no "we'll arrive between 1 and 5 PM" uncertainty. You set items out and go about your day.

How this compares to traditional junk removal:

Most junk removal companies offer "same-day service" but what they mean is: if there's availability, a crew will come during a 2-4 hour window sometime today, walk through your home, give you a price, and remove items if you agree. You need to be home the entire time. With Dropcurb, same-day means your items are gone by tonight with zero involvement from you after placing them at the curb.
