The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Neither the city nor the county publishes a city-run electronics collection, but the county lists electronics among the items it accepts free at its chemical collection centres and also says they may go in the garbage.
City cost & eligibility
Sarasota County accepts electronics such as monitors, televisions, stereos, speakers, telephones and vacuum cleaners at its chemical collection centres free of charge for county residents, and its guidance also allows them in the household garbage. A city bulk appointment is the third route and carries a quoted fee. Confirm which route the household wants before moving the item.

Take the item to a county chemical collection centre, most conveniently the south site at 250 S. Jackson Road in Venice, which is open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or book a city bulk appointment by calling 941-486-2422.
Get it ready
Remove and separately manage any batteries, keep the screen intact because broken screens limit handling options, and take proof of Sarasota County residency such as a driver's licence, tax bill or utility bill to the county centre.
The south chemical collection centre at 250 S. Jackson Road takes electronics, paint, batteries, chemicals, fluorescent lamps, sharps and used motor oil from county residents free of charge, Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Self-hauled garbage and construction loads go to the Central County Solid Waste Disposal Complex at 4000 Knights Trail Road in Nokomis with photo identification and closed-toe shoes.

Use the south centre at 250 S. Jackson Road in Venice, open Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or the north centre at 8750 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, and check whether the event falls on a government holiday.
Business waste is excluded, pharmaceuticals are no longer accepted at the centres, and firearms, munition components and ammunition over .50 calibre are refused.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Venice?+

Does my old TV have to work?+
Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
Where can I take a television in Venice?+
