Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

The Ellenwood mailing label does not select a provider. Eligible DeKalb accounts request county bulky collection, unincorporated Clayton residents request an inspection and estimate, and Rockdale residents use the tagged center.
City cost & eligibility
Charges depend on the county route. DeKalb states that bulky items require a fee but does not publish a universal per-item amount; Clayton starts inspected pickup at 20 dollars; Rockdale requires a Full Use Tag with month and eligibility dependent pricing.
When & how
Confirm the county for the address first. DeKalb asks for curb placement before the request and publishes collection within 10 business days, Clayton normally inspects within 24 hours after the call, and Rockdale is self-haul during center hours. DeKalb suspended operations October 10, 2026 and closed Seminole Road Landfill and transfer stations. Normal hours were planned for Monday, October 12 only weather permitting. Recheck the official notice immediately; it does not establish service after that date. Clayton normally inspects within 24 hours and publishes pickup within one to three working days after payment.
Get it ready
Separate the load by item type, keep hazardous material out, and use only the serving county route. An Ellenwood address in Henry County needs direct provider confirmation because no exact official route was established in this review.
Furniture is named in the DeKalb bulky route, Clayton inspected pickup, and Rockdale tagged-center rules. Habitat considers new or gently used furniture under 300 pounds after screening.
City cost & eligibility

When & how
For DeKalb, put the furniture at the curb and submit the request. For Clayton, place it on the county right-of-way and call for inspection. Rockdale and Habitat are self-haul after eligibility or item confirmation.

City cost & eligibility
The serving county determines the charge. DeKalb publishes fee-required bulky collection without a universal appliance amount, Clayton starts inspected pickup at 20 dollars, and Rockdale access requires its current Full Use Tag.
When & how

Rockdale names electronics at its tagged resident center. DeKalb publishes a separate electronics recycling program. The reviewed Clayton pages do not establish a general electronics route.

Confirm the exact device and current terms with DeKalb Solid Waste Management or the Rockdale center. No supported general electronics charge was found in the reviewed Clayton pages.
When & how

Get it ready

Use the parcel or county lookup for the exact address. An Ellenwood mailing address can be in Clayton, DeKalb, Henry or Rockdale County, and no reviewed route applies across all four.
Place requested bulky or special-collection items neatly at the curb without blocking mailboxes, sidewalks, utilities or drainage. Submit the request after placement and pay any assessed special-collection charge before service. DeKalb suspended operations October 10, 2026 and closed Seminole Road Landfill and transfer stations. Normal hours were planned for Monday, October 12 only weather permitting. Recheck the official notice immediately; it does not establish service after that date.
For an unincorporated Clayton address, place eligible debris at the curb on the county right-of-way, then call Refuse Control so an inspector can review the pile and issue the estimate. Clayton normally inspects within 24 hours and publishes pickup within one to three working days after payment.
The reviewed county pages do not create a universal apartment, private-road or HOA set-out location. Confirm property permission and the serving county’s accessible placement point before moving items from the unit.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
