Prepare the refrigerator and route
Check the model manual and measure the entire route, including doors, turns and changes in level. Empty the refrigerator and secure it for movement. Use capable helpers and an appliance dolly with straps; moving a refrigerator without a dolly is not a safe workaround when moving it beyond the cutout and out of the house.

Arrange disposal after it is outside
Do not cut into the refrigerant system. Ask the disposal facility how it handles intact refrigerators and whether refrigerant recovery is completed as part of disposal. Keep the refrigerator upright during transport when possible.
