Where can you donate old printers?

Participating Dell Reconnect Goodwill locations accept printers of any brand and condition for recycling. Goodwill Northern New England also lists printers, while Olympics and Rainier refuses them. Best Buy offers free residential printer recycling. For reuse, confirm a recipient for your working model before transporting it; recycling acceptance does not promise reuse.

Choose the route that matches the printer

For a working printer, ask the specific charity or reuse receiver whether it can accept the model and condition. Do not assume every Goodwill location accepts printers. Participating Dell Reconnect Goodwill locations and Goodwill Northern New England list printers, but Goodwill Olympics and Rainier Region does not.

For a nonworking printer, use an electronics recycling route such as Best Buy’s residential program, which lists printers among its free accepted computing items. Check the actual location’s current terms before making the trip.

Prepare the printer before drop-off

Print a test page if the printer works, and remove stored private jobs using the manufacturer’s instructions. This does not confirm secure data destruction. Treat leaking ink and loose ink cartridges as separate questions and ask the receiver how it wants them handled.

Dropcurb fit for an unwanted printer

Dropcurb fits an accepted printer you no longer want when you can place it outdoors in an accessible location before pickup. For accepted leftovers already outside, Dropcurb handles loading, transport and disposal. Its printer scope includes one printer, including larger printers and models with a built-in scanner; if you need indoor carrying, use a service that includes that labor.
