The village also runs a branch and brush collection from mid-May through mid-October with no stickers, on area based weeks set by whether the home is north or south of Hill Avenue.

No charge. Glen Ellyn residences in the branch and brush program, which the village guide lists with no sticker required. Residents on Hill and north of Hill Avenue are collected in the second Monday to Thursday of the month and residents south of Hill Avenue in the third, and the material must be from trees and shrubs and stacked neatly.
When & how
Stack the brush at the curb in the collection week for the address between mid-May and mid-October, and keep it away from the yard waste because a brush pile may not contain yard waste.
Get it ready
Leave the brush loose and neatly stacked rather than bundled or containerised, keep branches under ten inches in diameter and from trees and shrubs only, and keep stumps, roots, dirt, construction wood, lumber, branches with nails or spikes, wooden fence pieces and professionally cut trimmings out of the pile because the program refuses them.
Refuse, recycling and yard waste are collected every Monday, or Tuesday when Monday is a holiday. Village ordinance prohibits putting garbage, recycling or yard waste at the curb before 4:30 p.m. on the day before collection, items have to be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day, and carts come back in within twenty four hours.
