When & how
Yard waste and bundled brush are collected on your regular collection day from the first full week of April through the second full week of December, with everything out by 6 a.m. The free fall leaf collection ran November 3 through December 12 in the published season, and the free Christmas tree pickup runs for two weeks in January.
Get it ready
Put yard waste in a biodegradable bag or a can no larger than 45 gallons with one sticker on each, keep containers under 50 pounds, and tie brush bundles with non-plastic twine or string.
Refuse goes to the curb in covered containers by 6 a.m. on your scheduled day, and yard waste must also be out by 6 a.m. during the collection season. Containers may not sit on the parkway more than 12 hours before collection and must be removed within 12 hours after pickup.
Yard waste bags and cans should not weigh more than 50 pounds, and brush bundles must stay under 50 pounds, six feet in length and 18 inches in diameter, with non-plastic twine or string. No individual branch may exceed six inches in diameter.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Arrange it
Attach a refuse sticker to each large item and a yard waste sticker to each bag, can or bundle, then set it out by 6 a.m. on your collection day. Stickers are sold at Ace Hardware on Westmore-Meyers, Ace Hardware on Villa Avenue in Villa Park, Jewel on Main Street in Lombard, Jewel on St. Charles Road in Villa Park, and Johnson's Lighthouse BP on St. Charles Road in Villa Park.
Stickers cover material one worker can handle, and extra stickers are required when an item exceeds 50 pounds or one cubic yard. Items over 100 pounds or bulk material needing two workers move to a flat per weight charge instead, and mattresses and box springs must be wrapped first.

From $153.92 for published additional annual subscription for a 64 gallon compost toter, which increases each April 1 by 4.5 percent through the contract term ending March 31, 2029. Lombard residents in single family homes and multi-unit buildings of up to four units.
Arrange it
Subscribe to receive a gray 64-gallon toter, which Waste Management collects weekly on the normal service day from the first full week of April through the second full week of December.
Service is unavailable outside that season because of winter conditions, there are no refunds or service-hold credits, and toters are the resident's responsibility to clean. The Village publishes two different annual figures for this toter, so confirm the current amount before subscribing.
Lombard is a collection-only program, and the Village publishes no resident drop-off site of its own. Everything moves through the weekly Waste Management collection, the sticker system for large items and yard waste, or a scheduled bulk pickup for material over 100 pounds. The Village does publish a special collection rate measured per cubic yard, which is the route to ask about for heavier or bulkier loads. Use an accessible outdoor spot you are allowed to use, and follow the instructions in your confirmation. Keep sidewalks, entrances and vehicle access clear. You arrange any indoor carrying. For a loading dock or a short building access window, confirm the setup with our team before booking.
How should brush and branches be bundled?+
Bundled brush is collected at residential properties of one to four units when a yard waste sticker is attached to each bundle.
