Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Accepted with preparation

Electronics are accepted at Dumpster Days with per item fees: 35.00 for a television, 20.00 for a computer monitor, and other electronics under the vehicle load fee. Household hazardous waste that the event refuses goes to the county facility instead.

City cost & eligibility
$35 per television at the Dumpster Days drop-off, with computer monitors at 20.00 each and other electronics taken under the vehicle load fee, in addition to the vehicle charge. Lenexa residents with proof of a current Lenexa address, paying by cash, cheque with the licence number written on it, or credit card.
When & how
Dumpster Days runs two weekends a year, with October 3 and 4, 2026 published next, and the event is the city's own electronics route because hazardous waste, batteries, waste oil and paint are refused there and routed to the county.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, expect the per item fee at the gate for a monitor or television, and take batteries, waste oil and paint to the Johnson County household hazardous waste facility rather than the Dumpster Days site.

Four items carry their own fee at the gate

On top of the vehicle load charge, the city prices four items individually at Dumpster Days: 5.00 per tire, 20.00 per computer monitor, 35.00 per television and 75.00 for a white appliance that still contains Freon. Furniture, mattresses, lamps, light fixtures, ballasts, lawn mowers, smoke detectors, styrofoam, cardboard and yard waste ride the vehicle fee instead.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Lenexa leaves collection to private haulers, so the first call for a couch, a mattress or an appliance is the licensed company serving the address: city regulation requires every permitted hauler to offer one bulky item curbside pickup a year inside its basic collection rate, with some scheduling by phone and others running set area dates, and a few charging extra for particular items. For anything beyond that, the city runs Dumpster Days twice a year at the Municipal Services Service Center, 7700 Cottonwood St., where proof of a current Lenexa address is required and the fee depends on the vehicle rather than the load, from 20.00 for a car or minivan with seats to 75.00 for a large box truck. Four items carry their own fee at the gate: 5.00 per tire, 20.00 per computer monitor, 35.00 per television and 75.00 for a white appliance containing Freon. Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, lamps, light fixtures, ballasts, lawn mowers, smoke detectors, styrofoam, cardboard and yard waste are all accepted there, while chemicals, household trash, liquids, propane bottles, fuel tanks, fluorescent tubes and hazardous waste such as batteries, waste oil and paint are refused and routed to the Johnson County Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Reuse Facility or the Olathe facility open to all Johnson County residents. The city also runs two free document shredding events a year and accepts prescription medication at the Lenexa Justice Center. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Lenexa.

How much does TV removal cost in Lenexa?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Lenexa?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can a Lenexa household take a television?

To a Dumpster Days event, where electronics are accepted with a fee of 35.00 per television and 20.00 per computer monitor on top of the vehicle load charge, and proof of a current Lenexa address is required. Batteries, waste oil and paint are refused at those events and go to the Johnson County Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Reuse Facility instead.Official guidance
