Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Best Buy accepts residential devices inside its limits and quotes a fee for pick-up and haul-away, and Summit Transfer charges by the item for televisions and computers. Neither publishes a rate card, so confirm the device and any charge with the site you choose.

Erase personal data before a computer leaves the house and keep loose batteries out of the household trash. Confirm the screen size and the per-household limit first, because an oversized set will be turned away.
The regional park in Lee's Summit and the landfill in Sugar Creek take mattresses, televisions, appliances and other oversized material by the item, and Pink Hill Acres in Blue Springs takes construction debris. Hours are by contact at every one of them, and paint, batteries and other hazardous products go to the regional collection program instead.

Blue Springs runs no collection and no public landfill of its own, so self-haul here means choosing between the private haulers on the city list and the regional drop-off sites. Summit Transfer in Lee's Summit takes mattresses, televisions, computers, exercise equipment and non-refrigerated appliances by the item and recycles cans, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and glass free for any metro resident; Courtney Ridge Landfill takes mattresses and appliances with the refrigerant already removed; Blue Springs Scrap Metal takes the cooling appliances and recovers the refrigerant itself; and Pink Hill Acres takes construction debris only. Mattresses and box springs in any condition, televisions including CRT, projection and flat-screen sets, computer monitors, computers, printers, network equipment, stereos, tablets, large exercise equipment, tires, ranges, ovens, stoves, washers, dryers, water heaters and small appliances, plus cans, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and glass.
Cans, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and glass are free to any Kansas City metro resident, every other accepted item carries a fee, and the park pays nothing for material. Refrigerated appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers are not accepted, compressed gas cylinders other than 1 lb. propane camp stove tanks are refused, and lawn mowers are taken only with fluids fully drained.
