A bundle is ten flattened boxes. A bale is mechanically compacted cardboard, securely strapped together and staged at an accessible loading dock.
Loose empty boxes.
Count each empty box as one item. Remove contents, plastic packing and foam. This choice is for the cardboard box itself.
Bundles of 10.
Flatten ten empty boxes and tie them into one bundle. Twenty-three boxes? Choose two ten-box bundles and three loose boxes. Count each box once.
Compacted bales.
Choose small for 50–150 lb, medium for 151–300 lb or large for 301–500 lb. Every bale must be securely bound and accessible from a loading dock. Unknown weight, no dock or over 500 lb? Ask our team first.

Cardboard is accepted at the Marshall Street Recycling Center alongside the other drop-off material, and the town's curbside recycling cart takes the paper and cardboard the Recycle Smart MA program accepts.
City cost & eligibility
The town publishes no separate rate for cardboard, because the drop-off sits inside the recycling center's decal or one day pass and the cart service is the household's weekly collection, so confirm the decal terms at Town Hall before the first trip.
When & how
Flatten the cardboard and use the weekly recycling cart, or take it to the Marshall Street Recycling Center on a Saturday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Get it ready
Flatten and dry the cardboard, keep it out of the trash cart, and follow the Recycle Smart MA list the town points residents to when a material is unclear.
Put the town-issued carts at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on your collection day, facing the street with the handles and wheels away from it, the trash cart on the left and the recycling cart on the right as you face the street, and at least three feet between them. When a collection day falls on one of the town's listed holidays, that day and the rest of the week slide by one day, so a Friday route runs on Saturday.

Arrange it
Put the carts out by 6:30 a.m. on the collection day facing the street with three feet between them, and put the sticker on each extra bag before it goes out.
The first cart each week is free of stickers, and anything beyond a cart or that will not fit the town's cart program, such as furniture, appliances and tires, has to be scheduled rather than left at the curb.

Cost & conditions
$20 per electronic item such as a television, computer monitor, exercise machine or lawnmower dropped at the Marshall Street Recycling Center with a town sticker. Holliston residents with a recycling center car decal obtained at the Town Hall Treasurer's Office, which requires a driver's licence and a registration with a Holliston address, or a one day pass with proof of residence.
Arrange it
Get the decal or the one day pass first, buy the stickers for any electronic item at Town Hall or one of the listed stores, and drive to the center on a Saturday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., or on the Sunday opening when the town announces one for the winter.
Household recycling, household trash, hazardous waste, batteries and appliances are prohibited at the center, so those keep to the carts, the scheduled haul or the hazardous waste day. Textiles go to the donation bins at the center and on Washington Street rather than into the accepted pile.

Check your local provider’s cardboard rules, including flattening, container limits and collection days. EPA recommends keeping paper products clean and dry. Dropcurb provides a separately booked pickup; a specific recycling facility or recycling outcome is not guaranteed by this booking.
Can I arrange same-day pickup?+
Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Checkout shows the available dates for your address. Your booking is for a pickup day, rather than an exact arrival window. We send updates and photos after collection.
