Clawson collects city wide on Wednesdays. Place material out after 5 p.m. on Tuesday and before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, and note that SOCRRA asks that all trash, recycling and yard waste be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day.
In 2026 the Memorial Day and Labor Day weeks each delay collection by a day, to Thursday, while New Year's week runs on the normal schedule. All other holidays do not affect the collection date.

Arrange it
Set bagged and containerized material on the easement in front of your home or at the end of the driveway apron after 5 p.m. Tuesday and before 7 a.m. Wednesday, and use a free yard waste sticker with brown bags or a yard waste container during the compost season.
Bags are limited to 40 pounds and containers to 35 gallons and 60 pounds, and only Tringali Sanitation carts larger than the permitted size are acceptable. Yard waste is accepted only during the compost season.
Clawson's own programs are curbside, so self haul means driving to a SOCRRA site in Troy or Rochester Hills. Trash loads go to the SOCRRA Transfer Station at 991 Coolidge in Troy with no appointment but limited dumping hours, and SOCRRA charges a per ton rate with a minimum charge. Mixed recycling, cardboard, Styrofoam and scrap metal items, along with the paper shredder, household hazardous waste and electronics recycling, are handled at the appointment only Drop-off Center at 995 Coolidge. Compost is available to residents free of charge at the Spurt-SOCRRA site on School Road in Rochester Hills, where you bring your own shovel and container.
