Our pickup starts at an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the trip through your home, down interior stairs or out of the building before the pickup.
Book by 2pm at the pickup address for same-day pickup, using the dates shown at checkout. A pickup day is not an exact appointment time. If your building allows only a short access window, contact us before booking.
For pieces too large for a bin or bag, set bulk items out between 6pm and midnight before the correct collection day. Keep them out of the street and clear of pedestrian traffic or neighboring frontage. DSNY will not collect from private property.

Can you pick up my couch today?+
Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the couch outside and accessible according to your confirmation. We send pickup updates and photos when it is done; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.
How do I book a sectional for removal?+
Open Sectional in the sofa choices, count its structural sections, and select any sleeper or reclining feature. Count the sections with their own bases, not loose cushions. The matching catalog choice covers one complete sectional of that configuration. Text a photo before booking if you are unsure.
Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.
Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?+
You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.
Will NYC collect an old couch in Brooklyn?+
Yes, residential couches can use DSNY bulk collection. Use your address’s trash-only collection day for a non-recyclable sofa. Separate a pull-out sofa’s metal frame for recycling. Ordinary bulk pickup follows the route schedule; it is not an appointment service.Official guidance
