The cleanup after the work

The project is done. Get your space back.

The new bathroom is ready, but the old vanity is still outside. A replaced door is taking up space you need. Put those leftover items on a pickup plan, with the price settled and updates through the final haul-away.

Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and remodeling debris

Not on the regular city route

Pawtucket refuses construction material at the curb and at the Transfer Station, and the state campus in Johnston lists construction and demolition debris as a statewide drop-off option.

City cost & eligibility
No city construction rate exists, because the curb and the Transfer Station both refuse this material. The state's resource recovery campus handles construction and demolition debris as a statewide drop-off option with fees that the pages reviewed do not publish, so confirm the load and the fee on 401-942-1430 ext. 3102, the number the city prints for construction disposal.
When & how
Arrange the disposal before the work produces debris. The state campus operates Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to noon, closed on the published holidays.
Get it ready
Keep sand, dirt, sod, rocks, demolition lumber, broken concrete, asphalt, plaster, tile, brick, toilets, tubs, vanities and cabinets out of the barrels and off the curb, because the city refuses all of them. Ask the state campus which entrance to use, since the campus has separate entrances for the landfill, the residential area and the administration building.

Take a construction load to the state campus

A household or contractor with construction and demolition debris that the city and the Transfer Station refuse.

Cost & conditions
The state campus publishes accepted materials and pricing, but the construction fee is not printed on the pages reviewed, so confirm the load and the fee on 401-942-1430 ext. 3102, the construction number the city prints.
Arrange it
Call the construction line for the fee and the correct entrance, then deliver to the resource recovery campus on Shun Pike in Johnston, open Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to noon.

Fees may apply and the campus has separate entrances for the landfill, the residential recycling area and the administration building, so confirm which one takes a construction load.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Pawtucket residents have two self-haul routes and one state route. The Transfer Station at 240 Grotto Avenue takes household bags, rugs, yard waste, cardboard, tires, white metal, air conditioners, mattresses, propane and motor oil from residents who show a city-address license, and it books bulky items, refrigerators and freezers, furniture, televisions and metal by appointment, but it refuses construction and commercial waste. A recyclable mattress or box spring can also be dropped free at the city's monthly event on the first Saturday, in the lot across from City Hall, or free at Tuff Stuff Recycling on Walcott Street, and electronics go to that event or to Green Tech Assets on Central Avenue. Construction material has no city route at all, so it goes to the state resource recovery campus on Shun Pike in Johnston, where the city prints a construction line and fees may apply. Construction and demolition debris as a statewide drop-off option, alongside the state's recycling, composting and disposal services. The state page lists the campus as a drop-off-only option for this material, with fees.

Fees may apply and the campus publishes separate entrances for the landfill, the residential area and the administration building, so a construction load has to be confirmed in advance. Pawtucket runs no resident construction programme of its own, and the state page tells residents of towns without one to contact the city before putting the material in the regular trash.

Operating hours Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to noon, closed on the published holidays. Office hours are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The state campus publishes accepted materials and pricing in general terms and does not print the construction fee on the pages reviewed, so confirm the load and the fee on 401-942-1430 ext. 3102.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Pawtucket.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Pawtucket?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Pawtucket?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does construction debris go in Pawtucket?

Not to the curb and not to the Transfer Station, which both refuse construction material. The state's resource recovery campus in Johnston lists construction and demolition debris as a statewide drop-off option with fees, so confirm the load and the fee on 401-942-1430 ext. 3102, the construction line the city prints.Official guidance
