From $15 for the minimum charge for a non-commercial vehicle load up to 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight at the Trans-Jordan Landfill, with disposal charged at $42.00 per ton and heavier loads weighed pro rata. Residential loads taken to the landfill during its opening hours. Loads must be fully tarped and secured or a double fee applies.
When & how
Load up, tarp the load, and take it to the Trans-Jordan Landfill Monday to Saturday, or use a construction and demolition landfill, which the landfill's own FAQ suggests as a cheaper alternative for this material.
Get it ready
Cover the load, because Utah law requires it and the landfill charges double for an untarped load. Keep asbestos, liquid loads, septic loads and unopened drums out of the load, since none of those are accepted.
All loads going to the Trans-Jordan Landfill must be fully tarped and secured or a double fee applies, which mirrors the Utah law the district quotes for voucher loads. The landfill takes no cash, so bring a credit or debit card.

Cost & conditions
No charge. District fee waiver vouchers are for residents inside the service area. They are not valid for mattresses, tires or freon-containing units, and trailers hauled by one-ton or larger trucks are not eligible.

Complete the district voucher form, show the digital voucher at the chosen landfill, and keep the load securely covered on the way.
The voucher does not cover mattresses, tires or freon units, which have to go through the specialty service or be paid for at the gate, and an uncovered load can double the fee at the landfill.
Taylorsville households have a district basic service at one adopted monthly fee for a garbage can and a recycling can, a specialty curbside service priced per item on top of a base pickup rate, and two landfill routes. The district issues fee waiver vouchers for covered loads in cars, SUVs, pickups up to one ton and hand-unloaded trailers, but a voucher is not valid for mattresses, tires or freon-containing units.
