Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and remodeling debris

Special rules apply

Asphalt, brick, concrete, dirt, sod, sand, gravel and rock are accepted at county transfer stations as garbage only, with larger quantities allowed at a transfer station than at a drop box, and yard or clean wood debris is refused there.

City cost & eligibility
From $30 for the county garbage fee per vehicle at the Southwest station, where 360 pounds or less is $30 including tax as the minimum fee and anything over that weight is $160 per ton plus tax. Any customer bringing the load to the Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station. The inert material is accepted as garbage rather than as recycling, so the fee follows the vehicle weight, and the county lists private concrete recyclers as the alternative for a load that is clean enough to recycle.
When & how
Take the load to 21311 61st Place West during the posted hours and arrive at least 30 minutes before closing, or call one of the private concrete recyclers the county lists when you want the material recycled rather than landfilled. Waste Management also supplies a container for a remodel through its special arrangement line.
Get it ready
Keep the load free of yard and clean wood debris, which the county transfer stations refuse, and keep asbestos, liquids and anything with a fuel tank out of it. Separate and cover what you can before you arrive, because the fee follows the weighed vehicle.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

What never goes in either cart

Hazardous waste, medical waste, syringes, fluorescent bulbs, fuel tanks, liquids, computers and televisions stay out of the garbage cart, and batteries, plastic bags, foam, diapers, shredded paper, aluminum foil and broken dishes stay out of the recycling cart. County facilities refuse electronics, cooling appliances and dangerous waste as well, so each of those items needs the route named on its own page.

Holiday collection

Waste Management observes three annual holidays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. A weekday holiday delays collection by one day for the rest of that week, so a Thursday holiday moves Thursday customers to Friday and Friday customers to Saturday. Garbage is not collected on Independence Day, while recycling and yard debris run as scheduled, and the county transfer station closes on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Bulky items are booked, not set out

Bulky items such as mattresses, appliances and building materials are collected by special arrangement for a fee and are not taken on the ordinary collection day, so call Waste Management on 1-800-592-9995 before anything goes to the curb. The same line also handles extra garbage and a container for a clean-out, and the county transfer station is the self-haul option when the item can be carried in a vehicle.

A household with a couch, mattress, appliance, construction debris or a load of household junk that can be carried in a vehicle.

Waste Management for City of Mountlake Terrace households, with Snohomish County Solid Waste and E-Cycle Washington

Book a Waste Management special arrangement

A household that would rather leave the couch, mattress, appliance or building material at the curb than load it into a vehicle.

Cost & conditions
The Mountlake Terrace guide states that bulky items such as mattresses, appliances and building materials are collected by special arrangement for a fee, and no rate or size limit is published, so confirm the item and the current price with Waste Management on 1-800-592-9995 when the pickup is booked.
Arrange it
Call 1-800-592-9995 during the posted hours, describe the items, confirm the price and the collection day, and have everything at the curb for that day.

Bulky collection is an arrangement rather than a scheduled service day, and material the county refuses such as cooling appliances, electronics, hazardous waste and liquids still needs its own route even when a pickup is booked.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Mountlake Terrace.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Mountlake Terrace?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Mountlake Terrace?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.
