Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Text us about your setup
  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Special rules apply

Electronic waste, including computers, televisions and cell phones, is on the not accepted list for the free bulky pickup. At the transfer stations the operator charges no special handling fee for televisions and monitors, but the disposal rate and transaction fee still apply.

City cost & eligibility
The city refuses electronics in the bulky programme and the transfer station lists a $0.00 special handling fee for televisions and monitors while the per ton or per cubic yard disposal rate and the $10.00 transaction fee still apply, so confirm the total with Columbia Resource Company before hauling.
When & how
By hauling the device to a Columbia Resource Company transfer station during its open hours, since the city bulky programme refuses electronics.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the garbage, recycling and organics carts and off the bulky pile, erase personal data before handover, and expect the standard disposal charge even though the special handling fee for a television or monitor is zero. Confirm the current position with the transfer station before a trip.

What stays off the bulky pile

Yard debris, tires, concrete and construction or demolition material, electronic waste including computers, televisions and cell phones, anything that may contain asbestos, household hazardous waste including bulbs, paint and chemicals, and anything containing freon are all refused in the city bulky programme. Those loads go to a transfer station or a household hazardous waste window instead.

City of Vancouver Solid Waste Services with Waste Connections of Washington, and Columbia Resource Company for the Clark County transfer stations

Haul the load to a Clark County transfer station

A household with construction debris, electronics, tires, a freon appliance or any material the city bulky programme refuses.

Cost & conditions
From $14.83 per cubic yard where the cubic yard rate applies, with the per ton rate at $118.65. A $10.00 transaction fee is charged per trip in addition to the disposal rate, special handling fees apply to refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and tires, televisions and monitors carry no special handling fee, and the 3.6 percent state gross receipts tax applies to every disposal transaction.
Arrange it
Take the load to the West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center at 6601 Old Lower River Rd and check in, or call the operator on 360-737-1727 first because the site asks customers to check traffic and lines before driving.

Business hazardous waste is not accepted, any container used to deliver material is not returned, household hazardous waste has its own window at the site, and the rates and hours are set by the Clark County contract.

Columbia Resource Company rates

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self-hauling from Vancouver runs to the Columbia Resource Company transfer stations that operate under the Clark County contract. At the West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center on Old Lower River Road, disposal is charged at $118.65 per ton or $14.83 per cubic yard where that rate applies, with a $10 transaction fee per trip and the 3.6 percent state gross receipts tax on every disposal transaction. Special handling adds $24.91 for a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner, nothing extra for televisions and monitors, and a few dollars per tire with a $6.46 minimum and no transaction fee on the first four tires brought in separately, while 100 percent yard debris gets a lower per ton rate and no transaction fee. Household hazardous waste is free at the Washougal location on the first and third Saturday of the month, and the West Vancouver site runs its hazardous waste window on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., accepts no business hazardous waste, does not return containers, and asks customers to check traffic before driving. The free city bulky pickup remains the cheapest route for furniture, mattresses, carpet, sinks and exercise equipment. Televisions and monitors are accepted for disposal, and the operator lists no special handling fee for them.

The standard disposal rate and the transaction fee still apply to the load even though the special handling fee is zero, and the city bulky programme refuses electronics entirely.

The household hazardous waste window at this site runs Friday and Saturday only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the operator prints the hazardous waste hours rather than the general transfer station window in the retained body, so confirm the rest on 360-737-1727 before a trip.

The special handling fee for a television or monitor is listed at zero while the disposal rate and $10.00 transaction fee still apply, so confirm the total with Columbia Resource Company before hauling.

worth knowing.

How much does TV removal cost in Vancouver?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Vancouver?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
