Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions

Accepted with preparation

A television is one of the few items with a published free route in this county: the Saline County district takes televisions at its Recycle Saline collection center on Edison Avenue in Benton during its drop off days. The center accepts them from Saline County residents as part of the electronics drop off, so nothing has to go to the curb.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free to Saline County residents at the Recycle Saline collection center, 520 Edison Ave, Benton, open Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon, with no Saturday recycling in July.
When & how
Take the television to the collection center on a Tuesday, a Thursday or the first Saturday of the month rather than leaving it at the curb for a hauler.
Get it ready
Keep the screen whole and bring it to the electronics drop off with the rest of the device, and do not put a television in a yard waste or recycling load, because the center asks for material to be separated.

Where the restricted items go instead

Electronics are the one item type with a published free drop off: the district's collection center on Edison Avenue in Benton takes televisions, monitors, towers, laptops, phones, batteries and similar devices on Tuesdays, Thursdays and the first Saturday of the month, with no Saturday recycling in July. Furniture, bedding, appliances and exercise equipment come down to your hauler, a roll-off container, or a coupon load at the Saline County landfill, and paint, oil, fuel and chemicals need a district hazardous waste coupon instead.

Drop electronics at the Recycle Saline center

A household with a television, a monitor, a computer tower, a laptop, a phone, a gaming device, batteries or another electronic device.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free to Saline County residents at the collection center, 520 Edison Ave, Benton, which is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon, with no Saturday recycling in July.
Arrange it
Take the devices to the collection center during its open hours, keep the electronics separated from any other material, and unload them at the electronics drop off.

The center takes electronics, batteries, plastics 1, 2 and 5, cardboard, paper, glass, cans, plastic bags and tires, but yard waste there costs a per load charge for residential households and commercial haulers and landscaping companies are not allowed.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Bryant is a hauler market. The city publishes only its yard waste program, which is currently suspended during a burn ban, and everything else moves through a licensed hauler, a roll-off container or a county drop off. The district's free route is the collection center on Edison Avenue in Benton, which takes electronics including televisions, batteries and the usual recyclables during its Tuesday, Thursday and first Saturday hours. For a load the truck will not take, the district sells landfill coupons at its Benton office, two a household each year, one truck bed or trailer per coupon, and the load goes to the Saline County landfill on West Sardis Road in Bauxite, which takes coupons, debit, credit and checks rather than cash and does not publish what it accepts at the gate. Household chemicals are separate again: they need a district hazardous waste coupon and a trip to the receiving facility on River Street in Benton on one of the event dates on the district calendar.
