Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Accepted with preparation

Electronic waste including computers, televisions, VCRs and stereos is on the city's bulky item list, and the same devices are accepted at the county's permanent household hazardous waste facility in Jurupa Valley.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. E-waste counts toward the free bulky item pickup, available twice each calendar year with up to six items per request, and it is accepted at the free disposal events. The county household hazardous waste facility is also free to Riverside County residents.
When & how
Add the e-waste to a Burrtec bulky pickup, take it to one of the four yearly disposal events, or use the county facility at 1780 Agua Mansa Road on a Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of all three barrels, keep the load within six items on the bulky route, and route batteries, paint and other hazardous items to the county facility rather than to a disposal event, because the events refuse hazardous waste.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Jurupa Valley works from the curb first: three barrels go out weekly, and a free bulky item pickup is available twice each calendar year for up to six items, booked through Burrtec's online service order with at least one business day of notice. The city also joins Burrtec for four free disposal events a year, usually at Patriot High School, where residents with proof of residency can bring bulky items, green waste, metal and e-waste. Hazardous waste goes its own way, to the county's Agua Mansa facility at 1780 Agua Mansa Road on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Renovation material is different again, because construction and demolition waste is not a bulky item and covered projects have to file a diversion plan through Green Halo and recycle at least 65 percent.
