Residents drive separated loads of yard waste, land clearing debris, construction material, appliances and tires to the West Volusia Transfer Station on East New York Avenue or to the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange, and both sites charge by weight when the load is tipped. Motor oil is not allowed in the landfill and goes to the household hazardous waste facility on site, which also takes gasoline, paint, thinner, solvent and pool chemicals from residents without a charge.
