Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and renovation debris

Special rules apply

Construction debris goes in the wheeled refuse cart or out as prepared bundles within a one cubic yard limit, anything larger becomes a paid special collection, and paint, solvents and chemicals are refused.

City cost & eligibility
The village publishes no amount for a construction debris special collection, only that the fee applies. Confirm the load and the current charge with Republic Services at 847-981-0091 before setting it out.
When & how
Put prepared construction debris in the cart or as bundles beside it on the regular collection day. Construction debris over one cubic yard, along with excess trash, non-bulk items, large tree limbs and stumps, has to be arranged with Republic Services at 847-981-0091 as a special collection.
Get it ready
Boards placed in the cart must be cut so the lid closes. Bundles may not exceed 5 feet in length, 50 pounds or one cubic yard, with roughly six bundles to the cubic yard, and doors count as one bundle. Latex paint is dried out with an absorbent and put in the garbage cart, while oil-based paint, solvents and chemicals go to the appointment-only household hazardous waste collection at Public Works.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Keep the garbage inside the cart

All garbage has to be in the refuse cart. Anything outside the cart that is not on the approved bulk item list is left behind, so hold it for the next week or call Republic Services for a special pickup, and charges apply to that collection.

Appliances, electronics and paint run on their own routes

Appliances are an appointment with a fee paid on the pickup day, televisions, computers and other electronics go to the Wednesday drop-off at Public Works because Illinois bans them from landfill, and paint, solvents and chemicals belong at the appointment-only household hazardous waste collection rather than the cart or the bulk pile.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Mount Prospect.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Mount Prospect?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Mount Prospect?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How much construction debris can Mount Prospect take with the regular pickup?

One cubic yard, either in the refuse cart with the lid able to close or as bundles up to 5 feet and 50 pounds. Roughly six bundles equal one cubic yard and doors count as one bundle. Anything over one cubic yard needs a paid special collection arranged with Republic Services at 847-981-0091.Official guidance

Who do I call for an extra pickup in Mount Prospect?

Republic Services handles the village's special collections at 847-981-0091, including appliances and any load of excess trash, non-bulk items, construction debris over one cubic yard, large tree limbs or stumps. Public Works at 847-870-5640 answers questions about the carts, the approved bulk item list and anything the village pages do not cover.Official guidance

Where do paint, chemicals and motor oil go in Mount Prospect?

Paint, solvents, cleaners, motor oil, antifreeze and similar material never go in the refuse cart or the bulk pile. The village hosts appointment-only household hazardous waste collections at the Public Works Facility at 1700 W. Central Rd., and residents can also use the long-term Illinois facilities in Chicago, Naperville and Rockford. Latex paint is the exception: dry it out with an absorbent and put the can in the garbage cart.Official guidance
