Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, monitors and other electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics leave through the hauler's electronics and appliances pickup, which names televisions and computer monitors along with computers, laptops, keyboards, DVD players, VCRs, gaming systems, printers, fax machines and speakers. The county household hazardous waste facility inside Blaine does not take electronics, so the hauler pickup and the public drop-off center are the two local routes.

City cost & eligibility
No electronics rate is published. The hauler charges a fee that varies with the type and size of the item and quotes it when the pickup is booked on 763-780-8464, and the public drop-off center on Xylite Street takes e-waste for a fee as well.
When & how
Call Walters Recycling and Refuse at 763-780-8464 to book the pickup on the next regular collection day, or take the device to the drop-off center at 10191 Xylite Street NE, which is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from a computer, laptop, tablet or phone before handover, and keep electronics out of the trash cart and out of the curbside recycling cart. The county household hazardous waste facility lists electronics as not accepted, so nothing here belongs in a chemical load.

Behind the curb and within two feet of it

The city ordinance behind the collection rules asks for refuse, recyclables and yard waste to be set out immediately behind the curb and within two feet of it, and containers are not allowed in the street. Collection begins at 7AM and the carts are out at the curb by 7AM, so the night before is the safe time to stage everything.

Book the item and pay before it goes out

Bulk items and appliances are not collected on their own. The city asks households without the premium service to call Walters Recycling and Refuse at 763-780-8464 to arrange the pickup, and it states that all appliance and bulk item services are prepaid. The hauler asks for the booking at least one business day before the regular collection day and gives the price at that point.

Holiday weeks can push the collection back a day

Services that follow a holiday may be delayed one day, and the hauler publishes the delay for each holiday of the year. The 2026 list delays Friday services by a day after New Year's Day, every service by a day all week after Memorial Day and after Labor Day, Thursday and Friday by a day after Thanksgiving, and Friday by a day after Christmas, with no delay around Independence Day.

Book the electronics and appliances pickup

A household with a television, monitor, computer, printer, gaming system, washer, dryer, stove or refrigerator to recycle.

Cost & conditions

Arrange it
Call Walters Recycling and Refuse at 763-780-8464, say what the item is, take the quote and get on the schedule for the next regular collection day. The appliance or device goes out on the booked day with the preparation the hauler asks for.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Blaine.

How much does TV removal cost in Blaine?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Blaine?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Blaine?

Into the Walters Recycling and Refuse electronics pickup, booked at 763-780-8464 for your next regular collection day, or to the public drop-off center at 10191 Xylite Street NE, which is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The pickup names televisions and computer monitors as well as computers, laptops and keyboards, and the hauler quotes the fee when you book.Official guidance
