Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions and computer monitors

Accepted with preparation

Televisions and computer monitors are accepted year round at the city Recycling Center, where the price depends on the screen type and size, and Dem-Con in Blaine and the discounted curbside pickup take them as well.

City cost & eligibility
At the Recycling Center a tube television or monitor costs more as the screen gets larger, console and rear projection sets carry one flat price, a flat screen under the larger size break is charged by weight and one at or above it carries a flat price. Dem-Con Blaine prices tube sets by size band and flat screens by size band, and Certified Recycling charges by screen size and type on the curbside pickup with the city covering the trip charge while promotional funds last. Confirm the price for your screen before you load it.
When & how
Recycling Center, 1827 111th Avenue NW: April through September Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday 1 to 7 p.m.; October through March Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; closed Sunday, Monday and holidays. Certified Recycling schedules curbside pickups at 952-894-1448, and Dem-Con Blaine, 3280 99th Ct. NE, is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Get it ready
Weigh or measure the screen before you load it, because the center prices some screens by weight and others by size. Fill out the payment form inside the electronics container and take it to the cashier building. Load screens neatly from back to front and keep them dry. Floor standing copiers and other large floor standing equipment are refused, so ask about the exact device before the trip.

Certified Recycling curbside bulky pickup

Mattresses and box springs, furniture, appliances, electronics and exercise machines collected from the curb by appointment through the city's promotion.

Cost & conditions
A per-item price applies, and there is a single-truck charge on top of it. The city covers the trip charge while promotional funds last, and the covered amount is described on the city page as a forty dollar value, while the published price page and the current price sheet state different figures for the truck charge. Payment is cash, check or card, and a credit or debit payment adds a processing fee. Confirm the total when you schedule.
Arrange it
Call 952-894-1448 and tell the company you are calling about the Coon Rapids promotion, then book a pickup time. The company is at 14305 Ewing Ave. S., Burnsville, MN 55306, and answers the phone Monday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The promotion covers the trip charge only and runs while funds last, so the per-item price and the single-truck charge still apply. A mattress, box spring or furniture item found soaked or excessively wet carries an added per-unit charge, and a credit or debit payment adds a processing fee.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Coon Rapids.

How much does TV removal cost in Coon Rapids?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Coon Rapids?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

How much does it cost to recycle a television?

The Recycling Center prices tube and flat screens differently: tube prices step up with the screen size, console and rear projection sets are one flat price, and a flat screen under the larger size break is charged by weight. Dem-Con Blaine and Certified Recycling publish their own screen prices. Confirm the current price for your screen before you load.Official guidance

Which hauler serves my Coon Rapids address?

Coon Rapids uses open hauling, so you choose from five licensed haulers: Ace Solid Waste, Curbside Waste, Republic Services, Walter's Recycling and Waste Management. Every hauler provides trash and recycling, and the city assigns each neighborhood a collection day so trucks come down your street once a week. Contact the hauler directly to set up service.Official guidance

Who can use the Coon Rapids Recycling Center?

The Recycling Center is open to Anoka County residents, and clean white Styrofoam is accepted from anyone in Minnesota because that program is funded by a state grant. A limited number of programs may be available to local small businesses case by case, and the site has no public trash bin, so anything that is refused travels home with you.Official guidance

Where do paint, gasoline and other household chemicals go?

Products marked caution, warning, danger or poison go to the Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 3230 101st Avenue NE in Blaine, which is free for residents of Anoka and several neighboring metro counties and does not accept appliances, electronics, tires or trash. Keep them out of the curbside carts and out of any bulky load.Official guidance
