The local disposal guide
Rosenberg contracts its solid waste service to GFL Environmental, and one monthly rate covers trash twice a week, weekly recycling, green waste and bulky waste. Trash runs on Monday and Thursday or on Tuesday and Friday, recycling is every Wednesday, and both green waste and bulky waste are collected on the first pickup day of the week, either Monday or Tuesday. Carts cannot go into the street right of way before noon the day before collection, have to be out by 7 a.m. on the collection day, and come off the right of way by 8 a.m. the next morning. Green waste is limited to 15 or fewer bags or bundles under 50 pounds each with brush no larger than six inches in diameter cut into four foot lengths, and bulky waste is limited to five cubic yards per collection day for household items such as appliances and furniture, with refrigerant and doors removed from a refrigerator or freezer and a professional tag on the item. Electronics, tires, scrap metal and hazardous waste are all kept out of the carts and go to the Fort Bend County Recycle Center at 1200 Blume Road, which prices televisions by screen size, tires by size and mounting, and appliances by whether the unit holds refrigerant.
