Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions and computer monitors

Accepted with preparation

Televisions go to a listed electronics or household hazardous waste drop-off rather than any curbside can.

City cost & eligibility
The district lists electronics drop-off options but publishes no rate: Best Buy locations where fees may apply, METech Recycling, TAMS, Recycle Solutions, and the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center, so confirm the fee and the accepted device with the chosen location before the trip.
When & how
Take the set to one of the listed locations, such as the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 8805 South 700 West on (385) 315-6195, open Monday to Saturday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or a private recycler, and call first because hours and accepted material can change.
Get it ready
Keep the set whole, erase anything stored on it, and never put a television in the curbside recycling can, because the district lists electronics among the materials barred from curbside recycling.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Hard-to-recycle items go to listed drop-offs, not cans

The district bars hazardous materials, batteries, electronics, paint, gasoline, antifreeze, pesticides, full aerosol cans, propane tanks, plastic bags and film, glass, tires, mattresses, textiles and pallets from curbside recycling. Paint and chemicals go to one of the three Salt Lake County household hazardous waste facilities, and electronics, computers and appliances go to a listed recycler such as Best Buy, METech Recycling, TAMS, Recycle Solutions or the county collection center at 8805 South 700 West.

For your Dropcurb pickup

Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District under contract with Herriman City, with Salt Lake County household hazardous waste facilities

Take hazardous waste to a county facility

A household with paint, solvents, stains, thinners, batteries, chemicals or other hazardous products.

Cost & conditions
The district publishes the county facility addresses, phones and hours but no rate, so confirm the accepted material and any fee with the facility before the trip.
Arrange it
Call first, then drop the material at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 8805 South 700 West on (385) 315-6195, the Salt Lake Valley Landfill facility at 6030 West California Ave on (385) 468-3862, or the Trans-Jordan Landfill at 10473 South Bacchus Hwy on (385) 468-3862, all open Monday to Saturday.

Hours, fees, accepted materials, quantity limits and preparation requirements can change without notice, so the district asks residents to call before going, and hazardous material must never be placed in a curbside garbage or recycling can.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling through the district runs on the annual digital landfill voucher. A resident inside the district service area completes an online form for the chosen site and presents the voucher at the gate on a phone or as a printed copy, and the load has to fit the voucher rules: a car, SUV, pickup up to one ton or a hand-unloaded trailer, securely covered, with one voucher per eligible property each year. Mattresses, tires and units containing refrigerant are not accepted with a voucher, and trailers hauled by one-ton or larger trucks pay the standard fee. The participating sites are the Salt Lake Valley Landfill at 6030 W California Ave on 385-468-6370, the Trans-Jordan Landfill at 10473 S Bacchus Hwy on 801-569-8994 and the Trans-Jordan Transfer Station at 8813 South 700 West in Sandy on 801-569-8994. Hazardous waste and most electronics do not go to a landfill: they go to the Salt Lake County household hazardous waste facilities at 8805 South 700 West, 6030 West California Ave or 10473 South Bacchus Hwy, or to a listed private electronics recycler. County household hazardous waste collection center

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center

8805 South 700 West, Sandy, UT

Household hazardous waste such as paint, solvents, stains and thinners, along with batteries, electronics, computers and appliances taken through the county household hazardous waste programme.

Residents are asked to call before visiting because hours, fees, accepted materials, quantity limits and preparation requirements can change, products should stay in their labelled containers and never be mixed, and hazardous material must not be placed in curbside garbage or recycling cans.

Monday to Saturday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, phone (385) 315-6195.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Herriman.

How much does TV removal cost in Herriman?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Herriman?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a television go?

To a listed electronics drop-off rather than a curbside can. The district names Best Buy locations where fees may apply, METech Recycling at 369 Orange St., TAMS in Lindon, Recycle Solutions at 2066 West 2300 South, and the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 8805 South 700 West, which is open Monday to Saturday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Call the location first, because the district warns that hours, fees and accepted materials can change.Official guidance

What should never go in the curbside recycling can?

The district lists hazardous materials, batteries, electronics, paint, gasoline, antifreeze, pesticides, full aerosol cans, propane tanks, plastic bags and plastic film, glass, tires, mattresses, textiles and pallets as materials that do not belong in curbside recycling. Paint and chemicals go to one of the three Salt Lake County household hazardous waste facilities, electronics and appliances go to a listed recycler or the county collection center, and tires and mattresses go through the district's specialty curbside collection.Official guidance
