The local disposal guide

Will the city
take it?

Ogden City runs weekly curbside garbage and picks recycling up every other week on the same day. Yard material has its own route: the City keeps a green waste drop-off site open year round, free to residents who pay garbage fees and hold a green waste pass. For furniture, appliances, tires, electronics and mixed loads the City points residents to the transfer station and to the free Dial-A-Dumpster program, which drops a dumpster in a neighborhood when five neighbors sign on.

Furniture, mattresses and bulky items

Special rules apply

Ogden City does not run a curbside bulky item pickup, so furniture and mattresses move through the neighborhood Dial-A-Dumpster program or a self hauled trip to the transfer station.

City cost & eligibility

Confirm the route with the transfer station before loading, because scrap metal cannot go in the recycling cart or in a Dial-A-Dumpster container.
