Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

King County does not accept televisions, computers, monitors, laptops, cell phones or tablets at its solid waste facilities and sends residents to electronics recycling instead. Authorized E-Cycle Washington collection sites recycle computers and laptops, monitors and televisions free, while other electronics carry a fee, and the county's Take it Back Network covers a wider list.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. No charge for a computer or laptop, a monitor or a television at an authorized E-Cycle Washington collection site, which the county names as the free route. Other electronics are not covered by that program and carry a fee set by the recycler, so confirm the item and the price with the site before the trip.
When & how
Take the equipment to an authorized E-Cycle Washington collection site or a Take it Back Network member, and keep it out of the curbside carts and out of a county disposal load, because the county does not accept the devices at its facilities.
Get it ready
Erase personal data before the device leaves the house, remove and separate any battery so it can follow its own route, and check whether the item is one of the covered products before assuming the drop is free, because the electronics that are not part of the state program carry a recycler's fee.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Auburn.

How much does TV removal cost in Auburn?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Auburn?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Auburn?

To an electronics recycler rather than to a King County disposal facility, because the county does not accept televisions, computers, monitors, laptops, cell phones or tablets at its solid waste facilities. Authorized E-Cycle Washington collection sites recycle computers and laptops, monitors and televisions free, other electronics carry a fee, and the county's Take it Back Network covers computers, monitors, printers, televisions, cell phones, fax machines, audio and video equipment, household electronics and rechargeable batteries. Erase your data first.Official guidance

What will Auburn not take in the bulky item pickup?

Household garbage, animal waste and food waste, tires, truck canopies, riding lawn mowers and hot tubs. Every kind of remodeling or building material is refused, including doors, cabinets, bathtubs and tub walls, sinks, toilets, vanities, countertops, carpets, flooring, sheet rock, insulation, roofing, cement blocks, decking, fencing and lumber. Batteries, fluorescent fixtures and bulbs, hazardous materials and propane tanks are refused too, and those loads go to the King County transfer stations or to the free household hazardous waste drop-off instead.Official guidance
