Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Free Saturday, Friday mini and paint recycling collection events

Accepted with preparation

Kent hosts free recycling collection events that take material the curb will not: Saturday events in spring, summer and fall that cover appliances, mattresses and bulky material, Friday mini events focused on electronics, shredding and scrap metal, and paint only events under the Washington State Paint Stewardship Program.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. No charge for a resident to drop off the material each event accepts, with paint accepted under the Washington State Paint Stewardship Program in original containers of five gallons or less.
When & how
The Saturday events run on March 7 at Hogan Park, June 13 at Canyon Ridge Middle School and October 10, 2026 at Hogan Park, the Friday mini events run from 9 a.m. to noon on April 10, May 8, July 10, August 14 and September 18, 2026, and the paint only events run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hogan Park on March 14 and October 17, 2026. Confirm the Saturday event hours with the city before traveling.
Get it ready
Split the load by material. Appliances, CFC appliances, batteries, bulky yard debris, mattresses and box springs without futons, porcelain toilets, tubs and sinks, propane tanks, scrap metal and styrofoam go to a Saturday event, with concrete, brick and rock only at the summer event and passenger tires without rims, limited to ten per vehicle, in the spring and fall only. Televisions, monitors and the rest of the electronics list go to a Friday mini event, and shredding is limited to four legal sized boxes or five paper bags.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions, monitors, computers and the rest of the electronics list are accepted free at the Friday mini recycling events, while the Saturday events take electronics but not televisions or monitors, and King County refuses televisions at its disposal facilities.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. No charge for a resident to bring televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, tablets, e-readers, cell phones, disc players, fax machines, holiday lights, keyboards, mice, microwaves, remote controls, scanners, VCRs and wires to a Friday mini recycling event, and the city points residents at ecyclewa.org for a drop-off location between events.
When & how
The Friday mini events run from 9 a.m. to noon on April 10, May 8, July 10, August 14 and September 18, 2026.
Get it ready
Bring televisions of every type, including plastic sets, wood console sets and big screens, along with computers, monitors and the rest of the list, and keep televisions and monitors out of the Saturday events and out of the garbage because King County does not accept them for disposal. Erase personal data before the device leaves the house.

For a recycling collection event

A Friday mini event from 9 a.m. to noon takes televisions, monitors, computers and the rest of the electronics list, documents for shredding within four legal boxes or five paper bags, and scrap metal. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Kent.

How much does TV removal cost in Kent?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Kent?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
