Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

City cost & eligibility
No rate is published for exercise equipment, and the hauler confirms whether the machine goes out as one of the five bulky items in a scheduled collection, which is included with the residential account, before any charge is quoted.
When & how
Ask Yucaipa Disposal about the machine at least one week before a collection week in the second week of February, May, August or November, then set it out by 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled day.
Get it ready
Fold or tie down the deck and handles, pull off any console, screen or battery pack so those parts can be recycled separately, and keep the machine dry and reachable at the curb. A machine that still runs is worth offering to a resale or donation outlet before it is scheduled for collection.
Barrels and bulky items are at the curb by 6:00 a.m.
Place barrels in the street, at the curb or at the corner of the driveway with the handles facing the home, one foot apart and at least three feet from a mailbox, fence, vehicle or other obstruction. Set barrels out the night before or no later than 6:00 a.m. on the service day, because anything left behind waits for the next week.
Bulky items are collected on a separate truck during the second week of February, May, August and November, so call Yucaipa Disposal at least one week before the scheduled collection day. Keep hazardous waste, tires, oil and paint out of the pile, because those are refused and cannot go in a barrel either.
