Match the dresser’s overall size. Add a separate dresser mirror as its own item if it is leaving too. Empty drawers and keep the belongings you want before moving the dresser outside.
Desks and bookshelves
Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

City cost & eligibility
From $3.62 per sticker at the current contract year price, with a bulk item requiring five stickers. Wheaton residential LRS accounts, with a 50 pound maximum weight on a bulk item and a per pickup cart charge for anything set out in the cart.
When & how
Put the furniture at the curb on your garbage day with five stickers attached, between 7 p.m. the night before collection and 6 a.m. on the collection day.
Get it ready
Break or fold the piece down where you can, keep it within the 50 pound bulk limit, and keep anything too large to fit the cart out of the recycling cart and off the yard waste pile.

Pickup days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday and the same day covers garbage, recycling and yard waste, with material at the curb between 7 p.m. the night before collection and 6 a.m. on the collection day and containers back in by 7 p.m. that day. Residents must use the LRS carts provided for the home, each cart carries a tag the truck scans, the account is billed each time a cart is set out, and the carts stay with the house when a resident moves.
Each bag, container, stack and bulk item needs the listed number of stickers
LRS stickers cover yard waste, leaves, organics, garbage that will not fit in the cart, electronics and bulk items. One sticker covers an excess garbage bag or a biodegradable yard waste bag or container that stays inside the size and weight limits, one covers a stack of brush or tree trimmings, a bulk item such as carpeting, a mattress or a toilet needs five stickers, a white good such as a refrigerator or water heater needs ten, and a curbside television or monitor needs ten. Yard waste, leaves, food scraps and organics are collected from the first full week of April through the second full week of December, and live Christmas trees are picked up free with no sticker during the two weeks after Christmas.

Wheaton residential accounts served by Lakeshore Recycling Systems, where garbage and recycling are charged per pickup and only when a cart is set out and scanned.
Arrange it
Use the LRS carts provided for the home, put material at the curb between 7 p.m. the night before and 6 a.m. on the pickup day, call LRS at 773-685-8811 for cart, service or billing questions, and attach the required stickers to anything that does not fit in the cart.
Only the LRS carts are allowed and they stay with the house when you move, household hazardous waste must not go in the garbage, and paint, pesticides, solvents, used oil and automotive fluids are referred to the DuPage County program.

Yes. Add each piece and its quantity to one booking. A dining table and four chairs are five items; a separate mirror is not included with a dresser. You can mix eligible items from different rooms and review their combined total before paying.
Do I need to take furniture apart before pickup?+
You arrange any disassembly needed to move the furniture out of your home and into an accessible outdoor pickup spot. Dropcurb does not provide indoor disassembly or carrying. If you are unsure which catalog choice matches a dismantled or unusual piece, send a photo and ask before booking.
Does Wheaton collect furniture at the curb?+
Yes. A couch or other piece too large to fit in the cart is a bulk item and needs five LRS stickers, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds.
