Middletown runs its own curbside collection and keeps it tightly defined. Household garbage goes in the city green cart on your ward day, recycling goes in the blue cart on the Friday run, and the city code allows only city provided carts on the curb. Anything larger is a separate job: the city books a charged bulk pickup, the yard waste programme runs from April into November, and the drop-off centre at 76 Monhagen Avenue takes recyclables, paper and yard waste. What the city will not touch at all, from construction material and tires to televisions, goes to an Orange County transfer station.
Middletown does collect large items at the curb, but not on the regular run. Bulk trash is a separate appointment with a charge, booked at the Public Works office after the charge is paid.
