Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Special rules apply

The city points to Best Buy for electronics recycling and names computers, appliances, wires and cables, but it does not name televisions, so a set has to be confirmed.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes the Best Buy e-waste route and the three item per household per day limit but no retailer fee and no television detail, and the district's specialty service lists tires, bedding and appliances rather than electronics, so confirm the item and any charge with Best Buy or the district at 385-468-6325 before the set is moved.
When & how
Take the set to a Best Buy store with the household's e-waste, up to three items per household per day, after confirming that the store accepts that screen type, or ask the district for the current route.
Get it ready
Keep the screen whole and dry and wipe anything that stores data, keep it out of the blue recycling can, and do not put it in a voucher load because electronics are not part of the published landfill voucher rules.

Weekly cans come from the district, not the city

Millcreek's own public works department looks after roads, stormwater, permits and inspections, and its utility directory sends solid waste to Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District on 385-468-6325. The district collects garbage and recycling weekly and tells residents to set cans out the night before because there are no return trips, with collection operations running Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Basic residential service also carries the seasonal container reservation programme for large containers during approved cleanup periods, one annual landfill voucher per household, container repair or replacement, the fall leaf programme, glass drop-off locations, curbside Christmas tree collection and moving box collection.

One self hauled load a year, and free drop-offs for glass

Every household in the district may request one digital landfill voucher a year, valid with a car, SUV, pickup up to one ton or a hand unloaded trailer, with trailers hauled by one ton or larger trucks pay the standard fee instead. Every load has to be securely covered as Utah code requires, and the voucher cannot be used for mattresses, tires or freon containing units, which is why those items go through the priced specialty service. The city adds free glass drop-off at park sites including Scott Ave. Park at 3475 South 800 East in Millcreek, with bottles and jars only, empty and with lids or corks removed, and nothing left on the ground; ceramics, windshields, Pyrex, light bulbs, windows, mirrors, bags, boxes and six pack cartons are refused. Mattress and box spring recycling runs through Spring Back Utah, and electronics go to Best Buy.

Take electronics to Best Buy

A household with computers, cables, small appliances or other electronic waste.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes the Best Buy route and the limit of three items of e-waste per household per day but no fee, and retailers may charge for particular items, so confirm at the store before handing anything over.
Arrange it
Take the devices to a Best Buy store, up to three items per household per day, and ask the customer service desk which items the store currently accepts.

Three items per household per day, an in-store rather than kerbside route, and the city's list names computers, appliances, wires and cables rather than televisions, so a screen has to be confirmed separately.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Millcreek runs through the district and its partners. Basic residential service from Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling includes one digital landfill voucher per household each year, valid with a car, SUV, pickup up to one ton or a hand unloaded trailer, with the load securely covered as Utah code requires, and not valid for mattresses, tires or freon containing units. The district's specialty curbside collection prices items individually on top of a base pickup rate that depends on the address, with a per piece rate for a mattress or box spring that has to be bagged first, two appliance rates depending on whether the unit contains freon, and tire rates with or without a rim, while furniture is not accepted at all while the district reviews the service. The city adds free glass drop-off at partner sites such as Scott Ave. Park at 3475 South 800 East, where only bottles and jars are taken, empty and with lids removed, and where ceramics, dishware, windshields, Pyrex, light bulbs, windows, mirrors, bags, boxes and six pack cartons are refused. Mattress and box spring recycling runs through Spring Back Utah, which schedules pickups at a per piece price and deconstructs the units at 1929 S 4130 W Suite D in Salt Lake City, recovering most of the material. Electronics go to Best Buy, which the city says recycles up to three items of e-waste per household per day. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Millcreek.

How much does TV removal cost in Millcreek?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Millcreek?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
