Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

The Eco-Cycle hard-to-recycle site at 6400 Arapahoe Rd. is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday, with no appointments, a facility fee per vehicle and published item charges for refrigerators and freezers, mattresses and box springs, screens and other electronics, concrete, ceramics and plumbing fixtures, while scrap metal that is at least half metal and free of refrigerant, computers, phones, books, clothing, glassware and film plastics are covered by the facility fee. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Boulder.

How much does TV removal cost in Boulder?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Boulder?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

What does it cost to recycle a television in Boulder?

The hard-to-recycle site charges by weight for screens: CRT televisions and monitors are charged per pound and flat screen televisions and monitors a slightly lower rate per pound, both on top of the facility fee for the visit. Computers, laptops, tablets and mobile phones carry no item fee.Official guidance

Do I need an appointment to drop off electronics?

No. The hard-to-recycle site does not take appointments, so you can arrive during its open hours Monday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and electronics are paid for at the second register in the electronics zone. The site is closed Sunday.Official guidance

Does the City of Boulder pick up trash?

No. The city does not provide municipal waste hauling and does not set or control hauler rates, so a household or property owner subscribes to a licensed private hauler for trash, recycling and compost. The city's own role is the ordinance, the signs and the drop off programs, and its Zero Waste team can be reached at ZeroWaste@bouldercolorado.gov or 303-441-1931.Official guidance

Where do paint, solvents and batteries go in Boulder?

To the Boulder County Hazardous Materials Management Facility at 1901 63rd St., open Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and with Tuesday reserved for business waste by appointment. Residents of the counties it serves may drop material without an appointment, and usable products are offered back to the public during open hours; the county page publishes no household price, so confirm the charge with the facility on 720-564-2251 before a trip.Official guidance

What does the hard-to-recycle site take?

The Eco-Cycle site at 6400 Arapahoe Road takes scrap metal that is at least half metal and free of refrigerant, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers, mattresses, box springs and toppers, electronics from computers and phones to televisions and printers, concrete, ceramics, toilets, sinks and urinals, bikes and bicycle tires, film plastics, books, clothing, glassware, solar panels, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. Automotive tires, pressurized tanks and moldy bedding are refused.Official guidance

Where does yard waste and untreated wood go?

To the Boulder County and City of Boulder yard waste and wood waste drop off center at Western Disposal, 2051 63rd St., open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday. Residents receive a 40 percent discount from normal yard and wood waste pricing, and yard waste has to be kept separate from wood waste to get the discounted rate.Official guidance

What does my apartment building have to provide?

The Universal Zero Waste Ordinance requires property owners to provide adequate compost, recycling and trash collection to tenants, and the city offers multi-family complexes free signs, installation and education programs. A resident whose building is missing service, bins or signs can report it to the city through the Inquire Boulder form.Official guidance
